Good game Blazers, ya'll beat us soundly. That's all I can say about it. Looking forward to next year.
March On.

Do you think Blakeny's dead man walking, and if so, any thoughts on who the brain trust might pick to replace him?

This game came as a huge shock to the Trojan faithful. It's not that we lost, but HOW BAD we lost. Still, I don't think Larry Blakeney gets fired over it.
Honestly, I expect NEXT season to be his last...not this one. I think Troy will make a big hoopla and hype about Larry's 25th and final season with the Trojans. Just my guess based on program knowledge.
As for his replacement, MY choice would be Mike Turk. He played QB for us in the 80's and won a NC, more recently he's started up Huntington's program and made it a real success at the Div.III level. As far as who the Troy AD will go after, I couldn't tell you. It's like heresy to even discuss in serious tones Larry's leaving, he is our Bobby Bowden.

Who knows? Maybe you guys can get it straightened out and finish fine. I just think unless you're Texas A&M, replacing a QB is rarely seamless. I just couldn't imagine you guys being as potent offensively as you were last year (at least, not early).
Also, what happened Saturday may be more of a reflection of where UAB is relative to last year than Troy. As a Blazer fan, I certainly hope that's the case.

I looked at Troy's schedule, and they look like a 5 win team this year..........I guess they could come on strong and win more though.

You say that like it's a bad thing.
Never said that. Merely pointing out the irony of a coach making fun of small southern towns (SEC) and currently living in Murfreesboro.
The bigger point I want to make is we beat Troy. Some good nature ribbing is fine. We make fun of Pike County and they make fun of Legion Field and our facilities. But once the game is over show some class and move on. And im not directing that at you in particular.

Murphreesboro is nice, and very close to Nashville if you desire big city amenities.

Murfreesboro is much larger than many people think. I know; I lived there for four years.
It was also the home of Death Row Wings. Mmmm. I miss those.

Speaking of Pike County, has any one ever been to the Pike County Fair where you can play "Cow Patty Bingo?"

RE: Game yesterday causes some existential angst down Pike County way
Troy is promoting its "Take the World by fire" commercials in order to grow their enrollment base, particularly on line. They already have a large military enrollment by offering on line classes at military bases around the world. Their on campus enrollment may continue to be hampered by its rural placement in a time of higher energy costs for driving and time costs of commuting. It was not an accident that they decided to open a Troy@Montgomery campus location rather than enlarging their own Pike County campus. Travel expenses in money and time are part of the new movement from suburbs and rural areas back into the central cities and that may apply to universities as well. The 21st century may become the Age of the Urban University across America as well as in Alabama. UAB, UAH and USA may be the vanguard of this change in the coming decades.

Now they are blaming the loss on their linemen having long hair. Others are pointing out that it is OK because Jesus had long hair.
No guys, it is because they are fat and lazy, not because they have long hair.

According to MTSU, Murfreesboro is home to the largest enrollment state university in Tenn., not Knoxville.
