A&M looks scary good with how it handled SC, but I feel like a lot of the big plays A&M had were due to poor CB play. But with that being said, A&M pretty much capitalized on any slip, misstep, or poor decision that was made by SC.

21st century offense defeats 20th century offense.

Also, the Aggies are still vulnerable on defense. But with their offensive line and skill position players, it likely won't make a difference against most teams.

That's why I wonder about SC because for much of the game they made A&M's defense look good. I had expected SC to do more on offense.

Well, it should be noted that Connor Shaw is no longer at SC, and when any of his replacements went in last year (Shaw fought injuries off and on), it was pretty much a crapfest for Spurrier's offense. There wasn't a very strong backup to use.

Vanderbilt had uniforms last night that said Anchor Down on the back. It almost cost them four timeouts but apparently the uniforms were approved by the NCAA in advance.

I had the same thought.

Good thing the IRS wasn't managing Vanderbilt's emails.

It's not obscene, it's not taunting, what's the problem?

Not that it did Vandy any good...

Vandy was playing its first game after the loss of a charismatic and overly involved head football coach who ran to greener pastures. The first game suffered several rain/lightning delays. Offense looked sloppy as hell. Team lost to team it had no business losing to.

Sounds like deja vu from 2007....

Vandy is getting stomped at home by a Temple team that lost to FCS twice last season.

Tulane-Tulsa was a good game.

With the record-breaking performance by Kenny Hill, it's becoming clear it is Sumlin's offense that makes his QBs look great (Keenum, Manziel, Hill). Even Joeckel looked just as solid (or even better) than Manziel last year against Rice in the opener.

I think Browns fans are starting to realize they may have blown it again in drafting QBs with their latest undersized, not-particularly-fast first-rounder. I don't think Manziel will be a complete bust in the NFL, but I don't think he'll be a star either, sort of like Keenum. Manziel benefited greatly from the great Aggy o-line and big, capable WRs. At least the Texans got Keenum cheaply.

We only lost to one FCS team. Idaho is FBS, although they're obviously pretty bad.

We replaced basically our entire secondary except for two players, one of whom had 2 INTs against Vandy. Our two awful secondary players both graduated and we replaced them with a JUCO All American and some stud freshmen.

We also had a much improved pass rush after pretty much not being able to get near the QB last year.

Good start for C-USA with UTSA and WKU. Not sure which win is more surprising.

Bowling Green is a good team. I think 10 wins last year, a conference championship over a ranked/undefeated NIU team, and a close one-point at Miss St.

Not often we can highlight C-USA and OOC victories. Now just need some against P5.
