I was originally kidding about switching QBs depending on the situation but it could actually happen per that comment.

RE: Press Conference Quotes
Playing them situationally makes no sense. It would only make sense if you're planning on playing multiple all year. If not, throw them out there and put them in all situaitons possible. I'd probably go 2 series each.
The interesting thing is what happens if the first guy comes out and goes on two TD drives? It's the Blue Hoes, so that's not impossible at all.

Think about mop up duties...we aren't burning a frosh shirt so you'll basically have a starter-ish playing in that situation with plenty to prove. Take the over gamblers.

I think it also means Hare starts in Evanston.
I expect the rotation against Presbyterian to be the way the QB's are listed on the two deeps. Mac first, Hare second, Maddie third.
Hare is a capable runner, even if he is the worst runner of the 3 QB's. It won't matter. He doesn't have to be Jordan Lynch. He has 5 quality RB's to hand the ball to, plus TLL on jet sweeps. He can keep it on the read option as a change of pace to keep the D honest. As the coaches and others on here have said, Hare is the best pure passer.

After reading a c--p load of posts, here's my take: We're strong at WR (several targets), deep at RB position. Maddie is a strong runner, average passer. Give me MacI or Hare at QB and use the skill players we have on this roster. Hell, who knows? maybe turn Maddie into a RB.....would he be happy w/ that? don't know, but would he transfer again?
Hey. a lot of guys on this board have more football smarts than me, but that's the way I see it Bottom line: LET'S PLAY SOME FOOTBALL!!

I'm not saying Hare won't be the starter, but I wouldn't read much into that quote.
Here's the full quote:
Quote:On if the running backs will get the ball more considering the quarterback situation
"I've said that all along. We don't have a quarterback that we can run quarterback powers 30 times a game. I think there have been two in the history of college football who can do it, [Jordan] Lynch and Tebow, so that's not going to be us, it will be more traditional, if you want to use that word as far as running backs getting more carries."
Lynch had 586 carries in 28 games the last two years. That's 21 carries a game which is an insane number for a QB. To put it into perspective, Spann only averaged 18.4 carries per game his senior year. Wolfe's senior year, he averaged 24 carries per game.
I think the general consensus is it'll go back to more of the offense you saw Doeren's first year/Harnish's senior year. Harnish had 194 carries or a hair under 14 a game. Jaz had 187, Akeem had 56, Lynch had 45, Womble 37.
Even if Maddie is the starter, you're not going to see him carry the ball 21 times a game. I bet he would have the occasional game where his carries spiked (Harnish had 28 vs. Balls Tate), but you're going to see a more normal offense no matter who the QB is.

Decisions are necessary to move forward. Good decisions are good, bad decisions are learning experiences, no decisions mean no progress.

Press Conference Quotes
I keep agreeing with MD here. Indecision is not indicative of a good situation. If all three were strong and if you felt like you could win with any of them you pick the bast leader or most knowlegable of the system. Unless you are a gambler and then you take the one with the biggest upside. BUT you DECIDE!! Reps with the first team is huge at this point and now all of them are at a disadvantage. This indecision makes me either question Carey's approach (see Toledo Qbs for the last two years) or (and this is where I am) that none of the three are impressive. The odds of all three of them being equally great is far less likely than all three of them being equally I impressive (and no one has come back from a practice glowing about how great all three were). I am not anywhere near as confident as I was a month ago and it's effecting my desire to make the trip to Arkansas

We had 40 first downs in that game, and I couldn't put pants on for 3 days afterward.

43, to be exact. They were 2 first downs away from setting the NCAA record for first downs in a game. Insane, hahaha.
338 yards passing and 372 yards rushing. Ran 95 plays on offense.

Alabama and Wisconsin haven't named starters yet. You need to get off the MD overrraction train and take a deep breath. We started a season once with Grady and had to switch to Harnish...it worked out alright.
Not to mention no one knows what the coaches really think. Or the fact that game prep for NU/ark hasn't even started yet
