A fundamentalist state run on his interpretation of a religious text.
I understand that slant...but...I have not heard him make such an assertion. You are free of course to read between any line you wish.
Not much reading is required. But its kind of irrelevant. Carson is looking to sell books, regardless of how much damage he'll end up doing to the GOP Presidential candidates as he forces them into unwinnable positions in a 14 month long, debate filled clown car primary.
Yes....reading is required when you have no evidence of someones personal beliefs. I guess because I am a Presbyterian you automatically submit that I support gay marriage and predestination?
Lazy..Tom...Lazy.
With regards to Carson, he has a clear history of statements consistent with Dominionism.
Here's a transcript from far right site, Townhall that gives ample evidence of Dominionist leanings http://townhall.com/columnists/drbencars.../page/full
And he his insulting persons of faith (but those that don't agree with his religion).... http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/be...er-eye-god
Here's him using his religious beliefs to justify (somehow) tax breaks for the wealthy. http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2013-03...od-parents
But then again, Carson is really not important. He's not going to be elected to anything.

Jackson was on his best behavior. Carson's comment that people can either control their own lives...or end up being controlled by others.... was a brilliant observation.
I like Carson generally..but..He is a enigma. I find it curious that a man of such considerable scientific acumen would reject evolutionary theory and the historical record. It is clear that his belief system is driven by his 7th day Adventist faith....which is steeped in Biblical Literalism.
I don't personally have a problem with that...but...I would think it would make him almost unelectable in today's world.
Appropriate level for a debate. A Democratic has been versus a Republican never will be.
The only problem with Carson's statement is that he wants to control others lives.
Jackson is more of a Never was.... has been implies he once was a strong political force which is not the case.
I agree with you. Jackson was never much of a candidate for much. Its one of the reasons why I see a tinge of racism in people on the right who constantly bring him up as if he is relevant in the Democratic Party of today. People in the Democratic Party see him as a Dinosaur and a relic of a long distant past.
Jesse Jackson hasn't been relevant for a long time.
has anyone told jesse? I'm sure he would be shocked.

See brothers!! When we are no longer useful to a foxy white liberal puppeteer like Tom, they reveal themselves. They throw us overboard.
Dr Ben is here to deliver us from the liberal plantation. The "free, but dependent" generation is awaking! DR Ben is for all Americans!

whoa. that's some serious idol worship right there. he's a smart guy. I'll bet he's a great doctor. I'm afraid he would suck as president. It's time for some experience in the White House.

I think again you are reading between the lines based upon your biases..but...I do though see your slant and I must say we are probably not that far off in our puzzlement of Dr. Carson. I must say I am very wary of anyone that professes Biblical Literalism being elected to high office.

Why?
I'm not a Biblical literalist and have had more than one pretty heated argument with them. But I don't see where it impacts their ability to serve in political office.
I mean, it's not like congress is going to be voting on how old the earth is any time soon.

I did not say I would never vote for one...I am just wary of them. Something about someone believing that the world is 6000 years old makes me wonder out their mindset. In this instance? It baffles me. In general...the more educated one is...the less likely they are to hold these views. Ill say one thing for him. He certainly has faith and I have nothing against that.
I could be wrong...but...I can not see a SDA being elected POTUS.

Fo, it can't go any worst than what a supposedly Christian man, aka obama, has done to this country in 6 years. If anything he'll be pushing morality and his decisions will be what's right for the people, all the people, not just the ones that are favored by the president and the demoncratic agenda. I'm very impressed with how he thinks versus the gay that's in office now that doesn't. I'm withholding my preference right now though until I hear what his foreign policy is and if he would support a war effort, as Truman did, even though hst was a Christian too.
