I feel like it needs something built around it. Seems out of place a tad. An arch around it that says The Glass Bowl would be awesome

Im in agreement. I feel it needs an outline to contrast to the building.
looks good though.

RE: New Gigantic Video board and sound system at Glass Bowl
It's a video board, they can put any framing on it they want and change it on a whim. It does appear kind of "naked" but any major framing, probably end up advertising or block what is one of the charms of the Glass Bowl, the view. Everything a trade-off. Maybe just some framing to protect the edges from the elements? Have to believe that is part of the plan anyhow.

Loved the entrance video!!!
There were definitely ads on it at times, but also times when you had the full screen. They need to add a spot for timeouts remaining, in the actual scoreboard portion of the new video board. All in all, very impressive. Hopefully the sound portion will be up and running for next weekend.

Even with the ads, the video part was still bigger than the old board. And there was room above the down and distance to time outs remaining. Hopefully they'll have that next week.
And before the game, Paul Helgren tweeted that the new sound system was not ready yet.

I was on campus yesterday as they were configuring the sound system out. I'll say this, the new sound system (when properly worked) is loud, very loud. I don't know what happened at the Missouri game, as the new speakers sucked, but if they can get it to the volume that I heard on campus yesterday, the Glass Bowl will be absolutely rockin' on game day.

RE: New Gigantic Video board and sound system at Glass Bowl
Well, nobody brought it up after last week's game regarding the sound system, but I think it sounded pretty impressive. Really glad they were able to work out all the kinks. During the rain delay I also very much enjoyed how they played a bunch of rain-themed classic songs (ie. CCR's "Have You Ever Seen the Rain").
Sadly, it almost all went for naught when, upon post-weather delay warmups, we got to listen to 10 minutes of Master P with the sound on full blast, and approximately 75% of the lyrics censored out. I think that could have been the most egregious music selection in the history of the Glass Bowl. For people visiting the Glass Bowl from out of town, you can't help but to believe they're thinking "What type of city is this?" when they're hearing that. It'd definitely make them think twice about going to visit our great restaurants and other attractions while they're here and make a bee-line to the highway out of town. We dodged a bullet because it was Ball State and nobody lives in Muncie, Indiana, but what if they'd done this for, say, the Missouri game with all those people from Missouri and Central Ohio visiting?

As soon as someone decided to pick music that has to be censored, they should have had enough sense to say, "no." I don't think it's an over-reaction.
Though, he did recognize master p.

No, he is overreacting when it comes to thinking people will want to bolt out of the city ASAP because of the music played at a football game.

People get a bad taste, they do things differently. I'm not different when I visit out of town. Different perspectives I suppose but I'm betting my wrinkly old butt is a bit more representative of the out of towner's than yours is.
In THIS case, well the game ended on a different day then it started. I think Indiana people were probably headed for bed or the highway anyhow.
The Old Orchard neighbors, I'm surprised they don't pitch a fit. It's loud over there when the pee wees are playing and that's only an announcer.

I liked the rain themed selections, too! I don't remember the master p stuff, nor do I know what it is, nor do I think I want to. We went out during the last delay to bring to car up closer, so it must have been playing then. But, with all the options available I would agree that anything with explicit lyrics is not needed--even though most of the kids had probably already gone home to bed.

I watched it on ESPN3 and the only thing I noticed is how obnoxious the PA guy is. We don't need to be reminded every time it is THIRRRD DOWN...and 3. He tries to get a crowd riled up on every stinking 3rd down play. It is way over-worked....save it for when it really matters and you might get the reaction needed from the crowd. Otherwise, they can figure it out on their own.

I don't have a problem with it. No harm in trying to get the crowd pumped up. The majority of UT 'fans' can't "figure it out on their own." If they could, he wouldn't be saying it. They're probably too busy looking at their phones, checking the score of 0$U and UM.

Trust me - he annoys those that are paying attention - and those that are not - he annoys them as well - then they go back to their phones after laughing at him. Sample size was small at the Mizzou game - but that's what I observed...
