Cripes, jerseys should not be worn without pads. Just makes them all look weird

Man you guys are brutal. Hare looks fine. I'm sure Matthew Stafford doesn't mind his "couch and cheetos time" either.

Armour is usually a great poster, but man he's gotta be eating some crow now, he was pretty wrong on Grady vs. Harnish

Haha I'll own up to stuff when I was dead wrong, but I'd love to know why I need to eat crow for posting thoughts like this...

These comments make me laugh. If the coaches truly are still considering both QB's they obviously don't think the choice is so clear cut. Keep in mind Grady is 5-0 as a starter...and we consider Harnish's game against Minnesota (2 years ago) as his greatest Huskie performance. There is plenty of reason to believe it could be either QB, and I think Harnish will start, but I will be just as excited and optimistic with Grady under center.

I actually trust the coaching staff on this one. Probably because I don't think you can really blame them if the QB they choose ends up playing poorly...like 84 said, it's not like choosing Me'Co over Spann. Either way I'd be willing to bet that we will see both QB's in some capacity.

My position was that there was a legitimate competition for starting QB and that the people posting were doing mostly off of old, useless information.

Really just messing with you. You're usually one of the best posters, so just giving you a hard time for picking Grady.

You're logic for trusting the coaches carries over to this battle, which outside of what seems like a few of us, we have faith in them making the correct decision.

Haha it's all good. I did think Grady had a chance to be pretty good...and definitely thought Harnish's ceiling was much lower than it was. I didn't think he could throw a deep ball to save his life

Frankly, I have to agree. I think the coaching staff needs to annoint him the leader soon and let him take over. You know, some leaders are born, others are made. The coaches have the power to make him the leader. They should do it. I think that may be all he needs to put him over the top. Give him that last shot of confidence.

RE: Who starts at QB vs. Northwestern?
I've only seen McIntosh and Hare from the limited action they got last year and I've never seen Maddie play other than some old high school youtube highlights which obviously happened years ago. Even though he has no experience and hasn't played a down of meaningful football in a while, I honestly would pick Maddie. If he is the freak athlete that everyone makes him out to be I think he's the best fit for this offense. Just looking back on last year, teams stacked the box in order to stop Lynch's running ability and in doing so risked being beat deep. Lynch proved to throw a pretty decent deep ball, and from all accounts Maddie seems to be more than capable of doing so himself. Look at the Iowa game, the big score to Brown late in the Ball State game. The defense was so locked in on Lynch that these guys were WIDE open downfield. I know a lot of this has already been said and were all just antsy for the season to start, but yea my pick would be Maddie just based on this.

If Maddie starts, we fans will have a VERY exciting brand of football to watch this season.

I like McIntosh starting with his experience, but working Maddie in as much as is reasonable. If he can bring the heat and keep it under control D1-style, keep feeding him more and more reps....
