Umm, watch the games. MSU started against WMU. WMU. MSU was up 13-7 at the half, and won 26-13 (WMU went for 2 near end; otherwise it'd be 26-14). MSU played HORRIBLE. Their Defense OUTSCORED their Offense! WMU had their true freshman QB play most of the game with the senior injured, tying it 7-7 in the 1st half on his first play. Then they stomped D1AA team starting to get things on track -- but then lost to Notre Dame not being quite there yet on O. But after that, a bye, they got everything on track to win out.

WMU scored a garbage time TD with 1:17 left. Stop it.

I do a yearly parlay of the opening weekend with like 15+ teams with the money line picking 90% humongous favorites and like 1/2 close games for an exceptional payout. I've won once in about seven years with it being last year and NIU/Iowa as my upset special.

Anyone else here dabble in gambling?

ULM over Wake Forest
NDSU over Iowa St
Utah St over Tennessee

This new format really makes it hard to root for the mid major like we always have. Not that NIU has a chance at that bigger bowl spot, but if they did, an example is that UCF Penn St. game, normally I think most of us would want UCF to win, but that has changed now.

I always want the Huskies to be the best, but I think now more than ever is when we need to root for the mid-majors. They need to prove that the gap between P5 and G5 isn't that great.

To cut it to Less than 2 TDs. Yes. I'm not saying it was a CLOSE game. MSU was up by (technically) less than a TD in the 1st half. MSU pulled away thanks to their DEFENSE. Their offense was horrible.

Again, it was WMU -- a team that got WHACKED by a horrible D1AA team, and lost every game except UMass by 1 point where UMass went for 2 to go for the win-and-not-OT, but their receiver bungled the play. Yes, THAT WMU team.

MSU was *not* good in the very beginning of the season, is my point. If they start off that way against Jacksonville, and Jacksonville is as good or better as they left the season last year -- it won't be easy for MSU.

However, I do think MSU's not going to fall into the same lousy offensive situation they were like last year. They should be (knock on wood, as a mild MSU fan) just fine.

BG is only 7.5 point favorites. WKU is a decent team.

To be fair he said that's what we needed the score to be. His prediction was 31-17. People didn't want to realize how big the talent gap is between an NIU and a Presby.
