San Antonio has tons of upside except for 100 degree days in April.
Alamodome may be upgradeable to fit current standards
It is just hard for me to imagine the Raiders persona as an indoor team. That's just wrong.

Memphis was pretty responsible and diligent with its deal with the. Grizz. I question whether an NFL team would consider such diligence an attractive advantage for their fleecing endeavors. Aside from previously mentioned teams/cities, Buffalo was overlooked. Populations of metros like San Antonio are like 50% bigger than Memphis (tho we probably could include more counties in ours to boost it).
Work toward MLS. Pretty cheap. Growing sport. Great for our international appeal. NFL's great too but expensive to enter now. NBA is poised to rival soccer in global popularity, franchise values have skyrocketed. We should focus on enhancing our appeal for sophisticated and educated internationals. Soccer, international students and high wage employers and workers, and a more innovative Memphis in May could be the next steps to that.
Spot on. Good post. & yes, MLS is where Memphis needs to focus. Build a 45k seat retractable dome stadium that the tigers can play in as well until the university is ready for an on OCS. Soccer is gonna be huge in 20 years with the influx of immigrants.
Soccer will be huge but not because of immigrants. Plenty of Latinos in Memphis but very, very few play competitive soccer so they lack training and skill. Eric Trujillo played for the Tigers and only he and his little brother played competitive. Nobody but the Aurs played soccer when I grew up. My kid started at age 3 and eventually played all over the world. The difference? His kids will have soccer balls on their feet at age 2 AND their father will be able to teach. They will enter the competitive game with skill, unlike my kid. We played catch, basketball, and threw the football when he was little. He will pass the ball under the dinner table with his kids. I've seen soccer explode here but when this generation of kids has children, look out.
