Wk 1: C-USA; Lines in the Sand (Formerly "My Lines, Your Lines")
One final time...a great big THANKS to PirateTreasureNC for posting the weekly "My Lines...Your Lines" listing. It always generated lively discussion and we wish him well in his new home. He's now moved this over to the AAC board, naturally, and I've agreed to continue this weekly listing as long as folks want it.

I'll follow his basic set up, and make personal changes to it as I go along. But I do need to change the name. Since I live in Apollo Beach, FL, I'm going to call it "Lines in the Sand" so I'm not completely plagiarizing his good work. So here we go for week 1.

ESPN Game Listing/Score Tracking: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/scoreboard...ekNumber=1

RE: Wk 1: C-USA; Lines in the Sand (Formerly "My Lines, Your Lines"
And for my straight up picks, here's what my crystal ball tells me.

Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky: I think new coach, new system can't overcome basically same coach, home game. I see the Hilltoppers winning this in a mild upset.
UTSA @ Houston; New stadium and gunslinger at QB wins the day, I fear.
Troy @ UAB; New era brings out the best in the Blazers, although Troy is tough
FAU @ Nebraska; Pellini Bowl will be a fairly easy one for the Huskers
Marshall @ Miami (OH); Should win fairly easily, but it is an away game and those always make me very nervous.
Hampton @ ODU; Monarchs should take care of business in backyard brawl.
Rice @ Notre Dame; This may be a decent game, but too much to ask of Owls
LaTech @ Oklahoma; Should be an easy win for the Sooners. Sorry, guys.
Bethune-Cookman @ FIU; A must win game for the Panthers, but not an easy one.
Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee; No way the Blue Raiders lose this one.
Southern Miss @ Mississippi St.; I wish I could call this for Eagles, but not yet. Maybe next year.
North Texas @ Texas; This has some potential to be close, but Longhorns in the end to kick start the Charlie Strong era
UTEP @ New Mexico; Toughest to call, as I think the Miners have a chance, but home game for the Lobos.

Charlotte @ Campbell; Niners should win on the road against a weak, but improving Campbell team.

Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky - Fun one.
UTSA @ Houston - UTSA gets the nod from me. They've got a lot of potential this year.
Troy @ UAB - Close one, but I see the Blazers getting the season started off right.
FAU @ Nebraska - Keeping it close is key, but I think home field advantage wins this one.
Marshall @ Miami (OH) - Thirty point win.
Hampton @ ODU - Hampton doesn't have a chance. ODU blows them out.
Rice @ Notre Dame - Even though I had the ND hype, I think they'll be too much for Rice.
LaTech @ Oklahoma - Really want LaTech to win, but the Sooners are way too much.
Bethune-Cookman @ FIU - Every FCS game needs to be a win.
Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee - Devastating beatdown.
Southern Miss @ Mississippi St. - Hattiesburg will be down after this one.
North Texas @ Texas - An upset in the making? I think NT pulls it off.
UTEP @ New Mexico - Winning due to the home field edge.
Charlotte @ Campbell - Killer perfomance by Charlotte starts their season off right.

So there are my picks... see if you can find the hidden bonus message.

UTSA @ Houston - UTSA in the upset. Beep beep!
Troy @ UAB - You heard it here first. UAB wins going away and stomps a mud hole in the Trojans. This is not the same UAB squad.

Marshall @ Miami (OH) - Herd wins by 19
Hampton @ ODU - ODU by 40
Rice @ Notre Dame -ND in a blowout. Sorry Owls. That hurt typing that.
LaTech @ Oklahoma - OU and the officials by 18.
Bethune-Cookman @ FIU - FIU in a laugher
Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee - MTSU by 51
Southern Miss @ Mississippi St. - Even if it's close and it won't be you won't beat the SEC officials.

UTEP @ New Mexico - last second FG and UTEP wins!
Charlotte @ Campbell - Charlotte in a nail biter.

The difference is now we have a coach who's actually made a decision during a game.

Friday, August 29
Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky; 7:30 ET; CBS Sports Network This is almost a coin flip, but he who strikes first in the ally will have the edge.

UTSA @ Houston; 9:00 ET; ESPNU UTSA will be in the game till the end, but the new stadium will be Houston's inspiration.

Saturday, August 30
Troy @ UAB; 12:00 ET The blazers will start the season "Hot @ Home"

FAU @ Nebraska; 3:30 ET; Big Ten Network Don't count FAU out to fast. The Owls could feed on some corn leaving just the husk.

Marshall @ Miami (OH); 3:30 ET; ESPN3 Marshall will trample in leaving just a few feathers scattered around.

Hampton @ ODU; 3:30 ET The Jungle will be rocking as a "Captain Hook" impersonator becomes an appetizer

Rice @ Notre Dame; 3:30 ET; NBC Don't let the Irish get their dandruff up, it might get messy.

LaTech @ Oklahoma; 7:00 ET Sooner or later the OK will be victorious

Bethune-Cookman @ FIU; 7:00 ET Hey man, the Panthers will cook the kittens this year.

Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee; 7:00 ET Savannah will not be smiling

Southern Miss @ Mississippi St.; 7:30 ET; SEC Network The Eagles will start to soar again this year, just not able to get enough altitude in the 1st game.

North Texas @ Texas; 8:00 ET; Longhorn Network The Longhorns will snort and sneeze, as the Mean green slime them for 3 3/4 of a game.

UTEP @ New Mexico; 8:00 ET The Miners will find some “gold in them thar hills” of New Mexico, just not the motherload.

First, I'll once again thank PirtateTreasureNC for his dedication to his "My Lines, Your Lines" threads! Also, I would like to thank CNelson203 for taking over. You volunteered right away with great excitement, yet asked us what changes we would like to see. Again, thank you both!

Moreover, going to a school whose campus is a mile away from the beach, I love the choice of your title!

Bowling Green over WKU
Houston over UTSA
UAB over Troy
Nebraska over FAU
Marshall over Miami (OH)
Old Dominion over Hampton
Notre Dame over Rice
Oklahoma over LaTech
Bethune Cookman over FIU
Middle over Savannah St
Mississippi St over Southern Miss
Texas over UNT
New Mexico over UTEP

It's going to be a tough week y'all. But best of luck to everybody from Huntington to Miami to El Paso and everywhere in between!

Bethune-Cookman @ FIU - Revenge game
Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee - U G L Y

Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky; 7:30 ET; CBS Sports Network
MY LINE: BG 31-27. I think this will be a tight one.

UTSA @ Houston; 9:00 ET; ESPNU
MY LINE: Houston 31-23 Houston could be in for a surprise. If UTSA comes in with their minds right and Houston is all jazzed up for the home opener in their new digs.... could be a upset
http://csnbbs.com/thread-697404.html

Saturday, August 30
Troy @ UAB; 12:00 ET
MY LINE: UAB 27-23 I'm giving UAB the @ home push in this game. It was a OT thriller last year @ Troy.

FAU @ Nebraska; 3:30 ET; Big Ten Network
MY LINE: Nebraska 35-21 @ Nebraska is giving them the edge. FAU got hot in the second half of last season and started to look good. I think that will translate to this year but a W @ Nebrask in week 1 might be too much to pull off.

Marshall @ Miami (OH); 3:30 ET; ESPN3
MY LINE: Marshall 45-13 This game should not be close unless Marshall's road woes continue.

Hampton @ ODU; 3:30 ET
MY LINE: ODU 45-14 This game should not be close especially since ODU is hosting. The side story will be how does ODU do with "incoming FBS talent" versus a FCS team.

Rice @ Notre Dame; 3:30 ET; NBC
MY LINE: Notre Dame 28-21. Notre Dame should win at home BUT Rice is coming off a stellar year and appear to moving back up the ladder. Just not sure if Rice is ready to pull of the upset @ ND.

LaTech @ Oklahoma; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: OU 45-17 There is no way La Tech wins. I guess Skip finally gets to play that @ OU game 05-stirthepot (only ECU fans, if they read this, will get it )

Bethune-Cookman @ FIU; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: BC 27-10 FIU will have to show me something I can believe in before I pick them to win. FWIW, BC won last year @ FIU 34-13

Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: MTSU 27- 13 MTSU should not lose this one.

Southern Miss @ Mississippi St.; 7:30 ET; SEC Network
MY LINE: Miss St 31-17 IF USM hadn't had the track record they have over the last two years I could make this spread tighter but I can't see USM making this close or winning.

North Texas @ Texas; 8:00 ET; Longhorn Network
MY LINE: Texas 37-20. UNT was surprise team last year and did very well for itself. But this game is @ Texas so... IF UNT has a shot its breaking in that new Texas coach for coaching stress @ Texas versus what he had to deal with at Louisville.

UTEP @ New Mexico; 8:00 ET
MY LINE: New Mexico 27-20. UTEP still not there yet.

And for our future Conference mate:
ESPN Tracking: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/scoreboard...ekNumber=1

Thursday, August 28
Charlotte @ Campbell; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: Charlotte 45-10 I mean, if Charlotte can romp them in Charlotte 52-7 then @ Campbell should be a tighter game04-cheers

Had to at least do Week One for old times sake LOL.

Bold is for win ATS.

BUGS @ WKU (+7.5)
Heart says WKU, head says BG. But not covering the spread. 34-32 BUGS.

UTSA (+13.5) @ Houston
Tough opener but I think the spread is way too high here. Roadrunners have a great shot for a W but won't quite get it. 38-35 Houston.

Troy @ UAB (-1)
Another OT game but the Trogdors win! UAB 30-27 (OT)

FAU (+24) @ Nebraska
Little chance for a W but closer than expected. Huskers 31-17

Marshall (-24) @ Cryami
Herd rolls. Marshall 52-21

Hampton @ ODU
Monarchs easily. 63-27

Rice (+24.5) @ Notre Dame
ND was a weird team last year. Gave Sparty its only loss but lost to Pitt and struggled against FCS caliber Purdue. I think Rice gives them everything they can handle. ND 30-24

La Tech @ Oklahoma (-37.5)
Eep. Sooners 58-13

Bethune-Cookman @ FIU
B-C might be the first ever FCS team to lose because they took an FBS team too lightly. FIU 24-23

Savannah State @ MTSU
44-7

Southern Miss @ Miss State (-28.5)
Not gonna pretty. 55-23 MSU

North Texas (+26.5) @ Texas
All of those players kicked off the team has to add up. Strong won't be to able to work magic right away. Upset of the week. NT 28-23

UTEP @ New Mexico (-7)
Lobos 34-17

Charlotte @ Campbell
49ers hump the Camels 49-0

Hmm, I like your reasoning, IF FIU gets it done it will be < 7.

44-7

Southern Miss @ Miss State (-28.5)

North Texas (+26.5) @ Texas

Totally believe it is possible for UNT to pull out the upset, and if that occurred I think your score is about right. UNT has that game 1 and coaching change angle working in their favor.

UTEP @ New Mexico (-7)
Lobos 34-17

Charlotte @ Campbell
49ers hump the Camels 49-0

It’s close, but the conference draws the short stick this week managing only six wins as too many of the teams have taken on some big-time challenges.

Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky; The Hilltoppers will have to regroup after BG shows why they are the favorite to take the MAC.
BG 35 – WKU 17

UTSA @ Houston; This is my upset special. It will be a close one, but the Runners pull out the upset win over the ranked Cougars.
UTSA 24 – Houston 21

Troy @ UAB; The Blazers get off to a good start, but Troy takes control for the win.
Troy 31 – UAB 21

FAU @ Nebraska; Nebraska has this one from the opening whistle to the final gun.
Nebraska 42 – FAU 14

Marshall @ Miami (OH); The Herd gets their dream season off to a good start with the question never in doubt.
Marshall 45 – Miami 17

Hampton @ ODU; The trip home will be a short one for Hampton, but not a happy one. The Monarchs score fast and often in a runaway.
ODU 56 – Hampton 10

Rice @ Notre Dame; I would love to pick Rice here, but the Owls just cannot stay with the Irish.
Notre Dame 31 – Rice 17

LaTech @ Oklahoma; The Sooners roll.
OU 38 – LaTech 10

Bethune-Cookman @ FIU; The Panthers open the season with a much needed win.
FIU 17 – B-C 10

Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee; This will not be close. The Raiders take no prisoners.
MTSU 49 – Savannah State 14

Southern Miss @ Mississippi St.; I know that USM is looking for a comeback season, but it will not start in week one. MSU wins big.
MSU 35 – USM 14

North Texas @ Texas; The Eagles go into this game with high expectations, but the Longhorns don’t want to hear any of it. Texas wins by 14.
Texas 35 – UNT 21

UTEP @ New Mexico; The Lobos are too much for the Miners and win by 10.
New Mexico 24 – UTEP 14

Charlotte @ Campbell; The 49ers start the season with an easy win over a game but outmanned Camels team.
UNC 38 – Campbell 14

RE: Wk 1: C-USA; Lines in the Sand (Formerly "My Lines, Your Lines")
Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky 28-24. Toppers on, er, top?
UTSA @ Houston - "UTSA in the upset. Beep beep!" I want this really badly. Let's say 34-28.
Troy @ UAB - You got this Blazer bros. 14-10
FAU @ Nebraska - "FAU keeps it close till 7 minutes left in the third and the wheels come off." I could concur with that, similar to our game at Georgia last year. 55-24
Marshall @ Miami (OH) - Should be easy. (but man would this board go nuts if they lost...) 41-7
Hampton @ ODU - This sounds like it would be simple. 49-20
Rice @ Notre Dame - I think Bailiff has his guys loose and primed for this one. Catholics vs uh, the Clever? 27-24
LaTech @ Oklahoma - "OU and the officials by 18." I'd say more like 27. 48-21
Bethune-Cookman @ FIU - I still have no confidence in FIU. 21-6
Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee - BLOWOUT. 05-mafia 55-3
Southern Miss @ Mississippi St. - Sorry, Eagle bros. 42-21
North Texas @ Texas - I couldn't really say until we find out who our quarterback is after this Saturday. That said, all signs are pointing to parity in this match-up.
UTEP @ New Mexico - I think Kugler & co. make strides in this one. 23-14
Charlotte @ Campbell - Charlotte easily. 35-14

Might have to change my picks with the Texas and Notre Dame players' suspension. When will we see Vegas update some of these lines?
