RE: Wk 1: C-USA; Lines in the Sand (Formerly "My Lines, Your Lines")
Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky- BG is one of the 3 best MAC teams this season, WKU is not a top 3 C-USA team.
UTSA @ Houston- UTSA has a shot, but U of H should win the AAC
Troy @ UAB- Troy will probably finish 3rd in the Belt, UAB will finish in the bottom half of C-USA East.
FAU @ Nebraska- Polini gets some revenge for his brother.
Marshall @ Miami (OH)- Big win.
Hampton @ ODU- First of ODU's 4 wins this season.
Rice @ Notre Dame- but closer than most expect.
LaTech @ Oklahoma- Ugly loss of LA Tech. OU is a playoff team this season.
Bethune-Cookman @ FIU- Cookman beat them by 21 points last season. Show me something FIU!
Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee- Beat down.
Southern Miss @ Mississippi St.- I just hope USM can keep it respectable.
North Texas @ Texas- *Upset Alert* (Strong needs more than a game to get Texas winning) The North Texas running game will allow UNT to control the ball and the clock.
UTEP @ New Mexico- New Mexico won 2 games last season, and hosts this game.
I wish I could pick all of C-USA's teams to win in week 1, but that just isn't going to happen.

This is a week 1 prediction thread not a season thread and i have no idea how you wrapped your head around UNT winning at Texas but some how magically came short of very close matchups like WKU, UTSA and Rice (with 4 starters gone from ND)

Agreed, but I've seen what the Mean Green can do. I live near the stadium. Some of UNT's new starters may not have a lot of playing experience, but most have program experience... Expect a surprise or two. I can't give away too much. Coach Mac has built a program.
Texas has thrown several players off the team, and has some injuries too. Strong is trying to install his offense and defense. It takes time to build a program. Texas won't want to open up their playbook, and they will want to stay in a base defense. When they do open things up, they will probably make mistakes. Things are lining up nicely for a North Texas win.

I try not to be a homer when making picks. I honestly feel we can and will win this game. If I'm wrong, I'll eat crow. We will know in 2 weeks.

I care about the Cajuns here. But I don't know what his post has to do with the Cajuns. CajunFanatico has proven himself to be more than respectful while posting on CUSA threads. Kicking him out for making an honest opinion (one that is factual and not illwilled) just because he's not a fan of a CUSA program doesn't mean he can't come over here and respectfully discuss CUSA topics. I mean, telling him to leave after THAT is like kicking out an homosexual's opinion on marriage rights in the USA because he/she is not allowed to marry one of the same sex. If you're not a fan of a CUSA program, you don't belong in this discussion. If you can't be married in most states, then you don't belong in discussions about marriage.
Long story short, don't judge his intent on who he roots for. You don't know him, but I do. That was no means a cheap shot at CUSA. I mean, if my statement wasn't a cheap shot, and is okay on the CUSA board, how come his was a cheap shot and grounds for him to leave?

I haven't done these in years because I used to think that when I picked UTEP we would surely lose. After not picking them last year and they still lost most of the time I have decided my superstitions were unfounded.
Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky WKU wins at home.
UTSA @ Houston - This game will be really close but Houston pulls it out late.
Troy @ UAB - UAB is much better and will win this game.
FAU @ Nebraska - Nebraska rolls to a big win
Marshall @ Miami (OH) - Marshall wins big
Hampton @ ODU - ODU by 40 at halftime and cruses to a 24 point win
Rice @ Notre Dame -This game will be closer than most think with Notre Dame pulling it out with a score in the last 3 minutes
LaTech @ Oklahoma - Oklahoma will roll in this one and win by 28+
Bethune-Cookman @ FIU - FIU will be improved enough to win this one
Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee - MTSU will be up big early and win by 28+
Southern Miss @ Mississippi St. -I just can't see this one as being close as MSU wins by 21
North Texas @ Texas - Strong has to get a win here or he might not last through the season. Texas wins by 17
UTEP @ New Mexico - UTEP scores two defensive touchdowns and wins by 10
Charlotte @ Campbell - Charlotte wins easily
I see CUSA going 7-6 in week one.

I can honestly see why some might not welcome CajunFanatico on this board considering his fixation with CUSA and the endless anti-CUSA threads he starts on the SB board. However, I have to agree with you on this one. I didn't see anything wrong with his post. I find it a little odd since he thinks so little of CUSA yet cares enough to post here more than in the SB board. No harm done

RE: Wk 1: C-USA; Lines in the Sand (Formerly "My Lines, Your Lines")
Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky - Very close, but home team advantage gets WKU the win
UTSA @ Houston - I love what UTSA has done, but the Cougars have the look of a very good team. Houston by a significant margin
Troy @ UAB - High scoring affair. UAB very close at home.
FAU @ Nebraska - Ouch. Nebraska
Marshall @ Miami Oh - Easy win for Marshall
Hampton @ ODU - ugly blowout.
Rice @ Notre Dame - ND in a game that is much closer than they expect.
LaTech @ Oklahoma - Easy Sooner win.
Bethune-Cookman @ FIU - FIU wins.
Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee - Blowout.
Southern Miss @ Mississippi St.- USM keeps it close, but home advantage gives Miss St the win by a couple of TDs.
North Texas @ Texas - Texas is an unknown this year. Look for UNT to surprise them early but in the end....
UTEP @ New Mexico - Upset? UTEP comes through in a squeaker.
Charlotte @ Campbell - Charlotte with the easy win.

Cajuns and Red Wolves are welcome here, at least by me since both will eventually be in this conference with us, but the ever apologetic FAU fan is getting tiresome with his sports message board moral high ground. It's silly.

RE: Wk 1: C-USA; Lines in the Sand (Formerly "My Lines, Your Lines")
Here is my stab and first picks in new conference:
Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky: I think Bowling Green will finish season in top 10 nationally in offense.....I like our offense, but right out of the gate just too many question marks for our defense game 1 to win-42-35
UTSA @ Houston; Houston is for real-31-24
Troy @ UAB; Blakeny's time has past, UAB wins close game at home-CUSA 1 SUn Belt 0-24-21
FAU @ Nebraska; @Nebraska, Game 1, loud, Nebraska dominates-48-10
Marshall @ Miami (OH); Away games never easy, Marshall starts out slow but wins comfortably in the end-45-21
Hampton @ ODU; I hope ODU can win this one-55-14
Rice @ Notre Dame; Not sure what kind of team Rice has, but beating Notre Dame @ Notre Dame would be tough task to do-35-21
LaTech @ Oklahoma; Sooners might be best team in the nation, a tough game right out of the gates-45-10
Bethune-Cookman @ FIU; A loss that is not good for CUSA but I could easily see happen-28-27
Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee; MTSU in a rout I would hope-58-3
Southern Miss @ Mississippi St.; Miss. St. in a easy win-49-7
North Texas @ Texas; Texas in a blowout-55-3
UTEP @ New Mexico; Toss up, should be a close game, will go with home team for now-35-34
Charlotte @ Campbell; Fighting Camels go down-48-24

RE: Wk 1: C-USA; Lines in the Sand (Formerly "My Lines, Your Lines")
Most think UTEP will lose to UNM but my totally over optimistic homer self says otherwise. UTEP's defense will be much improved and the Miners will get the win and a few more this season.
Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky - BG is good but WKU is too and is at home.
UTSA @ Houston - Houston is very good but people don't seem to understand how much it means to have so many players play together for several seasons in a row like UTSA has. UTSA spoils new stadium opener for Houston.
Troy @ UAB - both with new qb and UAB with new coach, wins the home opener.
FAU @ Nebraska - FAU shocks the Cornhuskers who have an angry clown for a coach.
Marshall @ Miami Oh - Marshall big.
Hampton @ ODU - ODU really big.
Rice @ Notre Dame -Rice stuns ND!
LaTech @ Oklahoma - Hopefully LTU makes a good showing.
Bethune-Cookman @ FIU - FIU wins by 10.
Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee - Slobber knocker by MT.
Southern Miss @ Mississippi St.- USM shows improvement but not enough for the win.
North Texas @ Texas - Texas just too much.
UTEP @ New Mexico - Upset? UTEP defense much better. Miners win by 10 on the road.
Charlotte @ Campbell - Charlotte with big win.
