I would hire Tim Floyd immediately. He has great roots and connections in New Orleans and southern Mississippi. Cowen did not hire him because he felt there might be repercussions from Southern Cal recruiting during his tenure. It did not happen. He has pummeled Tulane every game that he has played them since going to UTEP. He would love to live in New Orleans. Major mistake by Dickson and Cowen not hiring him.

Thanks for posting. I love the alternate olive green and dark green colors of our new turf and the old school checker pattern in the end zones. Photo above new Tulane President Michael Fitts,Commissiober Aresco of the AAC,Tulane AD Rick Dickson and Tulane professor and Fox News political commentator James Carville.

Hell, why not Calipari, Self, or John Wooden?

Tim Floyd would recruit the greater NO area, and the "state of Tulane" would extend into basketball. CJ's doing it in Football, and the talent upgrade is growing. There's no shortage of basketball talent in the greater NO area.

You're still not getting Tim Floyd away from UTEP...

Wait what? Tulsa just hired away an SEC coach and we cant get a guy coaching in the dumps of CUSA in El Paso with a flawed past and NOLA roots? Between that and your idiotic "just be happy" remark, your credibility is shot. Incidentally your attitude would be perfect for the TU athletic admin.......go plant flowers am I right DfCT?

Tulsa did hire Frank Haith before he was about to be fired at Mizzou.

However, Tim Floyd is not out of reach for Tulane. The real the question is Tulane committed to land someone like Tim Floyd.

As part of a family that owns suite tickets for baseball and doesn't technically have a seat (as our suite has 25 game tickets and only 12 fixed seats). I'm not concerned about the seats and more about the capacity of a facility. Seeing all these pictures of luxury club space, field suites, and party decks - there are tons of place for people to be admitted with standing, table seating, bar stools, etc that aren't "fixed stadium seats" that will be counted in attendance numbers... just like me standing in our baseball box and counted in the attendance!

Aresco isn't worried about Tulane attendance... they're selling a large percentage of their stadium in season seats and the home side will look great on TV and that's all he's caring about! The club space, seats, and party decks produce more revenue than regular seats so financially it'll be a windfall for Tulane athletics.

There will be a TDECU press conference with Aresco. Haven't heard when it will take place.
