I really don't understand CJP sometimes. We've all known for 6 months that he has a need for an experienced PG for this year. There have been literally dozens of grad transfer PGs available this summer with much better resumes than this kid he is about to sign. Why he waits until the pickings are nonexistent to do something is baffling.

Dozens really? From Goodman's transfer list. Only including guys that might be eligible next year.:
-Kareem Canty Marshall to Auburn will sit out 2014-5 season
-Jacoby Davis Miss State, mom is sick in North Carolina transferring to be closer to her.
-Thomas Greer Austin Peay to Union University
-Ian Chiles - Graduated IUPUI to Tennessee averaged 16ppg but only 2 assists, more of a shooting guard than a PG.
-Jake Matthews Cornell averaged 4ppg and less than 1 apg
-Bubu Palo Iowa State to Colorado State - averaged 3 ppg 2 years ago at Iowa State
-Dimitri Batten - Old Dominion to Boston College - averaged 11ppg and less than 2 assists, more of a shooting guard.

There are some other guys that have been kicked off their teams that have some talent but none that we were either able to get or would even be eligible this year. It's not exactly like going to the store and saying give me one of them and one of them.

Cunningham is decent enough to give some backup minutes for us.

You expecting Pookie to play 35 mpg? Probably more like 25-28. Then there are foul issues, possible string of bad games, injury (heaven forbid). Again (in my best Seinfeld voice) what's the deal with Magee? Is something brewing on the hush hush that the simple folk don't know?

Are you seriously trying to stir the pot? It's not like Magee was a MAA

Magee is just going to take some time to develop. Probably better off the ball.

Hell nah, Pookie will lead us to the promised land.

I'm just glad he's still with us--- we who dwell in the wastelands. I kind of remember that Damon was a big fan of the merry Pookster.

He played some PG in HS, but he was tried there for a tiny bit last year, and was out of his element, IIRC. His handles aren't anywhere near good enough to be seriously considered there.

But it's not critical. Some peeps are trying to create a problem where there is none, or not one worth worrying about. Pookie will likely start. MaGee can play PG, if necessary. So can Markel. DeMarnier is simply a walkon with some experience, just as an insurance policy.

You would think the sky is falling, to read some posts. Sorta like Dom spraining his ankle in early August, and the world coming to an end.

So I'm wondering... Are you guys just having fun, or do you really not know how many transfers and PG's CJP and his staff have researched/ contacted. As much of that info that can be publicly released is available in Grant's articles on Roar. Sometimes the recruiting info cannot be put out there, because it jeopardizes our chances. Recruiting is full of red herrings and subterfuge.

This year's team is going to be interesting. PG play is so critical to overall team success. How strong are our options ? Opinions vary. We'll see how it plays out. Hopefully there will be some surprises. I'm no big fan of tiny PGs. I know there have been some amazing tiny PGs, but they are by far the exception, not the rule.
