4-6-4, a perspective on the ACC, SEC, B1G in 2014
Top 2 projected teams from each division this year:
ACC: FSU, Clemson, UNC, Miami
SEC: Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Georgia
B1G: Ohio St, Michigan St, Wisconsin, Iowa
*These four teams from each conference are worth (3 pts) if on the schedule.
The middle six from each conference in no order:
ACC: UofL, Duke, VT, Pitt, Cuse, BC
SEC: Fl, LSU, Miss. St, Missouri, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
B1G: Maryland, Michigan, Penn St, Illinois, Minn, Nebraska
*These six teams from each conference are worth (2pts) if on the schedule
The four that will struggle for wins for one reason or another this year (they could still make a bowl):
ACC: NCST, GT, WF, Virginia
SEC: Tenn, Arkansas, Vandy, uk
B1G: NW, Purdue, Rutgers, IU
*These four teams are worth (1pts) if on the schedule.
I only counted pts for each team in these three conferences. Playing ND counts 0pts. Playing a Big 12 team counts 0pts as well as the Pac12 and anybody else.
Only these teams that play each other.
Counting only the teams in these 3 conferences that play each other this year
I found the ACC has the toughest schedule (246 total pts), followed by the SEC (240 total pts), and the B1G (238 total pts).
**for example, Clemson has the toughest schedule based on pts.
Their schedule:
Georgia(3pts), FSU(3pts), NC(3pts), NCST(1pts), UofL(2pts), BC(2pts), Cuse(2pts), WF(1pts), GT(1pts), South Carolina(3pts) = 21pts
