In the end, the Raiders will get what they want and it won't be in SA. We've had such talks with the Marlins, the Saints, the Vikings, etc... Us San Antonians are use to being the chick that the dude corners to get the other chick jealous.

Hopefully one of these days a team does move to S.A...

In my opinion, the Raiders moving to San Antonio would be a terrible thing for UTSA. Majority of the time it seems the NFL team always wins in terms of fan support against college teams in the same city.

don't think Oakland can even afford to built the Raiders a new stadium, but it is curious why Davis wouldn't be looking at Los Angeles

I think it would be in UTSA's best interest not to have a competing football program in the city.

Bargaining chip is what SA is in this whole ordeal. NFL & MLB owners have done this dog & pony show numerous times & I for one am sick and tired of it. I think it would be bad for UTSA also. UTSA is still too young of a program that's trying to build its fan base. Plus I'm a Steelers fan & can't stand the Raiders.

Yeah, it's not gonna happen. And I agree that it wouldn't be a good thing for UTSA at this point either. Like Bossman said, it would hurt a program as young as ours far more than it would someone who has had football for many decades already and whose fan base is well established.

I can't deny though that the black & silver of the Raiders would make for a nice companion to the black & silver of the Spurs. There's just no comparison whatsoever though to how the two organizations are run. Spurs = Class, Professionalism, Success

Won't happen... heck, the NFL is talking about building/owning the stadium in Los Angeles to make sure they get two teams there (they want one AFC (Raiders) and one NFC (Rams?) team).

I can hear it now..... the "picks up" hand sign is actually a skull and crossbones

San Antonio, though smaller than many people in the region think it is, is big enough to support an NFL team, especially when Central Texas fans are thrown into consideration.

The down side is that it would certainly be a major blow to UTSA gaining a foothold in the market.

Houston is the best example of this. UH has a ton of very meaningful history and was once a major conference programs but struggled for support thanks to the Oilers, Texans and Rockets. You look to places like the Bay Area and Atlanta and even Georgia Tech and Stanford had to reduce their stadium capacities.

Jerry has a role in blocking Red McCombs and the Vikings as well as Tom Bensen and the Saints from coming to San Antonio. Jones has SA by the balls. I bet Jones will suddenly decide to change training camp 2015 from Oxnard to San Antonio to quell the rabble-rousers

The beginning of Rice's downfall from one of the top programs in the country coincided pretty much exactly with the arrival of the NFL in Houston
