David Gregory’s time is nearly up at “Meet the Press,” sources told Page Six , and he could be replaced as moderator of the nation’s longest-running TV show soon after the November midterm elections.
According to insiders, NBC political director and chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd is the rightful heir to Gregory, but he has not been officially offered the job.

Chuck Todd, a political obsessive and rabid sports fan, is the likely successor to David Gregory as moderator of “Meet the Press,” with the change expected to be announced in coming weeks, according to top political sources.
Chuck, 42, now wears three hats for NBC: chief White House correspondent; host of “The Daily Rundown,” at 9 a.m. weekdays on MSNBC; and political director. The Miami native, an alumnus of George Washington University ... is as passionate about Miami Hurricanes college football as he is about campaign dynamics.

Chuck Todd does a great job. I'm sure he'll do very well in that role.

Tim Russet was also a huge BC fan. His son is a BC graduate and he more than once hyped BC on-air. He was frequently on campus and at BC games.

RE: If it's Sunday ...
I wasn't sure that Meet The Press was still on television.
I am not trying to be snarky, I have just avoided/boycotted Sunday morning news/ political shows for years.

RE: If it's Sunday ...
that show is worthless. gregory never asked a tough follow up and neither does todd. chuck todd thinks that the wasn't his job to say that the republican party was lying about what was in the affordable health care act. even being mild saying that what they were saying wasn't accurate. you never see democrats and those you do see are the corporate third way blue dog democrats. all they care(d) about was access and staying on the beltway cocktail party circuit.
and I am trying to stay unpolitical here. the other Sunday shows do this, but meet the press is the flagship and their conscious choice to cozy up to the republicans which led to the other shows having mostly republicans has brought down the nation's political iq. they would rather say "BOTH SIDES!" than point the finger at republicans.
all of the Sunday shows are lost causes I'm because none of them ever ask tough questions that hold the political actors responsible.

Ratings growth continues for @meetthepress w/ @chucktodd. Last week, MTP was #2 in both total viewers and the A25-54 demo

With the news in my perspective, it generally does terrible of bringing up real questions (I see a much bigger liberal bias than conservative, but that's a different argument). They present a little bit of each sides spin and both often ignore unpleasent truths and thus what we are debating isn't even the real debate, but rather how the parties want to frame it (healthcare for example: there is very strong arguments that neither sides plans do a thing for the real issue which is costs are rising too fast for anyone to pay for and no one suggests plans to deal with that).
