How about trying the football rule: everybody "hurt" on a play must sit out X minutes.

Flopping is one thing, it happens in one way or another in every sport but baseball, but faking injury is almost unforgivable.

When you play a sport where the chances of getting hurt are as minimal as they are in soccer, faking it is a necessity.

I agree, but both the victim and perpetrator need to sit down.

Minimal, no sir. Head injuries are more common in soccer than basketball. More Lower extremity injuries also.

I don't know about the perpetrator. It's something you can't tell until you review it after the game.

That's why many people watch soccer just for the haircuts. They barely mess up their hair.

Soccer just doesn't have the man factor that American sports do.

Nascar leans left for miles. Can't get any more liberal than that.

How could soccer possibly compete with all this manliness?

And the way they do it in the World Cup was pathetic. They act like they got hit by a beer truck, and then 1 minute they are April fresh.

I think what you saw in the world cup, is european based players giving their teams a chance to catch their breath and get some water in that heat.

With everything being said, I think college football (going down in attendance) should take some advice from the MLS (growing in attendance).

What has helped the MLS is that the in-person experience is better than the television product and we have the opposite in CFB. The NFL could use the same. Maybe a dedicated, cheap "supporters section" in some stadiums.
