Anyone with connections to the marketing folks?
Think about this for a second, what if NIU extended an invitation to Weird Al to come to Huskie Staduim for whichever game is Band Day (KSU, Miami?). IF Northern Illinois is the first school to invite him, he's probably weird enough to accept (and come cheap). Our band could play one or two of his hits and then close the halftime show with this version. Talk about a match made in band geek heaven, and it's the type of off-the-wall thing that could make newscasts, ESPN, etc. Granted KSU or Miami might not appreciate it.

I love the idea! Would be nothing but a win/win situation. He'd get the publicity from the sporting world for the Sports Song and we'd in turn get publicity for having him there. Plus it'd be a great draw for one of those MAC games in October that no one is really excited about. I don't see a whole lot of downside to this!

I think he would want some money for that.

He has the #3 album on iTunes right now, is having a cultural moment right now, and is reconnecting with old fans who have fallen by the wayside. He's almost certainly got a tour waiting to be announced. It wouldn't be cheap, if it were even possible with tour scheduling.
