RE: Seriously Now, Who's Responsible For This Stuff?
Agree, MP went there on the refs, coaches, players and didn't hold back. I miss him. He openly pulled for us all the time. Loved it.

He used to make people want to jam sticks in their ears listening to his color commentary on the radio broadcasts.
Now he just wears a path back and forth to the free buffet line in the pressbox.
I loved when MP did color. He said the stuff Robin wanted to say, but was too professional to do it. John Creeks a great Bronco, but it's clear he's been told to keep his emotions out of it. Did emotional rants hurt Bob Ufer?
MP wasn't my favorite on color. He said the same thing over and over. And granted its ok to go after the refs, the problem is, they don't miss the call on EVERY play. Which is how it often came across.
However, while MP wasn't really my favorite, I would take him instantly over John Creek. You mentioned being told to keep his emotions out of it. I would like him to put ANY emotion into it. He doesn't have to be jumping up and down honking horns like Ufer or blatantly cheering for his team like Ron Santo, speaking in the same monotone with no voice inflection whatsoever is REALLY bad. Robin does such a great job with play by play and being a Bronco fan without letting his fandom overtake the broadcast that its still good to listen to, but Creek makes me cringe every time he talks.
Not sure why I am even going this way, but it seems to me like the local broadcast or school sponsored broadcast should have a little emotion for the hometown team. After all, 99% of the people that listen are rooting for the team right along with you. So why not help get them excited. I will give MP and Robin credit for that. They were obviously pulling for the Broncos without it being over the top.

In all seriousness though, someone asked what MP was doing now at WMU. I seriously don't know. The last I knew though he had been pulled out of the broadcast booth and asked to work in some manner with suite holders or something like that. And it also seems that there were talks that he had been tasked to get a closer look at things the last year of BCs tenure. I'm not going to say this properly, but like he was John Dunns mole inside the football program to get the dirt on Cubit to get him out of there. I do NOT have first hand knowledge of that, but have heard similar stories or thoughts from multiple people. Which honestly, I don't care. If that is his job, to help observe the football operations and staff and report back, then so be it.

My beef with him wasn't his color commentary... I thought he did a fine job with that. It's his budgeting philosophy of scheduling the BCS giants for football to collect revenue that I never liked.

RE: Seriously Now, Who's Responsible For This Stuff?
I had short discussion with Monty at the start of last season and mentioned that I really missed him working with Robin on the football games. Felt we had taken quite a step back with the change. He said he missed doing the color commentary and I should send a note to KB with my comments.
Sounds he would like to be back in the booth.
