Its not as rare as you think for Freshman to start in the last 10 years. With the way rate of turnover in coaching staffs now a days, playing frosh is becoming the norm.

Similar in corporations, they used to think and plan for a 3-5 year perspective, doing research and training and preparing financially to implement their strategy. Now, CEO's are judged by what happens at the end of the current quarter, and to an extent the long term be damned.
But the talk from Coach Fleck has been pretty consistent around building the right way, laying the foundation, etc. He hasn't seemed to be as concerned with the W-L record per se. So that makes me wonder what the approach will be. As others have said, the more athletic positions, the younger players can sometimes make things happen right away, the lines and strength/bulk spots not so much.

Guys like Zach Novoselsky and Leo Ekwoge who are still recovering from major injuries in the fall are probably a sure bet to redshirt. And then there's guys like Jordan Billingslea and Chris McDaniel who could probably use a year to develop, bulk up, etc. Besides that, it sure seems like it's pretty open with most of the others. I think I remember Fleck going on record saying that there will probably be 10-15 from this class that will be playing.

Well Dip or whatever, I don't feel the need to drone on and on reciting a PDF of the roster like you guys do trying to top eachother with your "great insight" on a constant basis, just so you can come across as the "all knowing".
That proves you "close people" really know how to remember names, not much more. Yep, my post count, here it comes, from a crew of social media stalkers of young athletes. How special.

My daughter was at golf camp today. Started raining so they sat on the short bus for a half hour waiting for it to stop. Apparently they got a little testy after awhile, so they took them back to the Y and they took their frustrations out with dodgeball. I'm afraid DB would decapitate me.
