I use 'em all myself, Buc. Although I sometimes hit the button, flip the switch, or pop a window up. I also sometimes call a bag a poke, and a suitcase a grip. But those last 2 are still in use in the West Virginia back country. It's not really a southern thing.
I'm young and I try to keep those words alive with my generation. Including commode for toilet.
How do you feel about millennials embracing the phrase "you guys?"
Wasn't aware they(we?) did. But have no opinion on it.
I generally stick with y'all, unless there's a very large crowd, in which case it's all y'all.

It is more correct to address a group of girls with "y'all" than it is to address them as "you guys."

What's so bad about buggy? It's less of a mouth full than shopping cart.

I just call it a cart.

Speaking of a mouth full of words...if you're to say "I'm going to grab a shopping cart" how many of you pronounce it exactly as it's spelled? How many would say "I'm gonna grab a shoppin' cart"?

At 32 I'm on the old end of the millennials group and I have never once said "you guys". It's always been "y'all" or as bitcruncher mentioned "all y'all"

There is going to be carry over and variations in all states. That map just indicates where it is most likely you will hear those terms.

My wife calls it a buggy, but she calls the place in
which she places it after shopping the shopping cart return.

Go figure?

I always just call it a cart. When I think of buggy I think of a baby buggy with the part of a roof on it for shade.

I do tend to say "you guys" even though I'm older than millennials. And even if it's mixed company. And where I'm at we tend to drop the last word, like "we're going to the store, you wanna come with?"

I've never, repeat NEVER, heard wagon used in New York. It's shopping cart. Maybe they use wagon in Greenwich Village, but that's it.

RE: How Southern Are You?
A friend was on a road trip with his wife somewhere in the midwest when he developed minor car trouble. It was something he could handle himself so he found an auto parts store, just before closing time.

As he and his wife were standing at the counter, discussing the part with the guy on the other side, someone else started turning the lights off.

Friend's wife says, "Are y'all fixin' to close?"

Counterman replies, "Ma'am, we don't fix clothes here. This is an auto parts store."

My aunt in Alabama

"Y'all want to go to the store? I'll carry."

That's one I can't get on board with.

I say "carry" in that sense all the time. Another favorite is "Fixin' to".

I had an employee that was always late for work, she’d call the office and say
I’m fixi'n to get ready”… which was her way of saying she was still in bed.

Here's one that is common around here

"I'd like to never" got that lid off the mayonnaise jar.

Or the word “even“ used as emphasis.
“I don’t even know where my car keys are”

How about "it ain't no nevermind," or "I ain't never"?

And of course, there's always "fair to middlin'" as an answer to the question of "how are you?".

Yeah, I hear that one from my aunt from time to time. BTW, how you say "aunt" can tell about one's "southerness". I pronounce it as "ant". It's funny though, I find myself slipping back with the southern slang when I go home. When I'm up here in VA, I don't tend to use the slang as much. It's not a conscience decision, just the way it works out.
