Might want to check your facts before making such statements as the one I bolded.
Home Attendance 2011
Sept 17 Nicholls State @ Cajun Field 28,741
Oct 1 Florida Atlantic @ Cajun Field 26,333
Oct 8 Troy @ Cajun Field 29775
Oct 15 North Texas State @ Cajun Field 32,823
Nov 5 ULM @ Cajun Field 28,176
And for the record, we played WKU at Bowling Green that year. Your attendance was 15,122.
stAte fans can defend their own numbers.
I'm sure he meant 3 years. 2010 ULL attendence average was 17,383.
Correct two years removed from this past season UL-L was closer to what Western averaged. And as I pointed out in another topic...
one losing record away from being there again. We all want to believe we are going to win forever but most of the time history is a good indicator of our future.

RE: why we came to c-usa
Years ago, the SBC was a damned fine basketball conference. WKU was a part of that.
When the SBC decided to impersonate a football conference, that more than anything else ruined college football.

so were Charlotte, UAB and ODU. If VCU were in CUSA, we'd have most of the members from the Sun Belt's best seasons.

Yeah, I was a UNO fan for much of the 1980s-1990s, so I remember all of that. When the SBC looked at original CUSA football and decided "hey, we can do that too", it really disrupted a status quo that, in hindsight, was pretty good for USM. As for WKU, only your own fans can decide if rocking the boat was worthwhile. You went from participating in a great basketball conference to participating in a conference with crappy basketball and even crappier football. I guess it makes for a more traditional homecoming week, though, and you got to beat the snot out of a USM football team that had been good a few months before.

Wow, 3-9 and we averaged 17,000+ Not too shabby.
Then there was this:
The Ragin’ Cajuns football team added yet another honor to its list on Tuesday as the NCAA announced that the University of Louisiana had the top attendance increase for the 2011 season.
“This honor is just a testament to the great fans we have here at UL,” head football coach Mark Hudspeth said. “I appreciate our fans accepting my challenge to pack Cajun Field and make it a great place to play. Even though we had the top increase in attendance last year, I think its only going to get better next year.”
The Cajuns had an average increase of 11,788 per game setting both the Sun Belt Conference average and total attendance record and the UL average attendance record.

RE: why we came to c-usa
Why do you try to turn every topic on this board into something about UL-L? Yes I realized UL-L was mention by someone else but you always try to change the complete topic.
UL-L is a SBC school and has nothing to do with the topic of why Western came to C-USA. For someone that doesn't want UL-L in this conference you sure do pimp them enough.
I will probably get myself a warning but so what...
I can't believe there isn't a mod on this board with enough balls to explain to you no matter what topic "WE" talk about...even if UL-L is mention it's not OK to keep pimping them or taking every topic there.

Okay, I understand, but since you keep bringing us up, I'd like to comment on this statement of yours:

If all that had happened at UL over the last few years was a coaching change, I'd be inclined to agree with you. But since that's not the case, you'd probably better get accustomed to the opposite. You may now go back to pimping WKU.

With all that SBC smack, I sure hope Southern Miss beats App St this year. Based on recent performance recently, you probably would have finished in the bottom third of the FCS Southern Conference so I wouldn't count on a W.

RE: why we came to c-usa
i still stand by the original premise that c-usa schools care more about hoops.
the cajuns and jags have had good runs in the past and do seem to care.
then the basketball only schools like ualr, uta, and ga state obviously care. but the rest rate hoops behind football, spring practice, and baseball.

Who's bringing you up? You were the first one to post on this thread which is completely unrelated to ULL. Are you lost? Crawl back into your hole.
