They were worst last season in the MAC in turnovers lost, 11th in sacks allowed, and 9th in rushing. 5 of CMU's wins last season were over a FCS team and 4 programs that combined for 4 wins.
And NIU could be 1-4 coming into the game. But Purdue/Kansas are awful. We beat OU last year and they lost their QB/RB. And UTC should/will be a win. I think a safe and unbiased opinion will be 4-2.
CMU returns the most starters in the nation I believe. As someone mentioned, we are returning 2 QB's with experience and a more experienced o-line which was injury riddled last year. Also gotta watch out for Titus Davis, dude's a beast!
We have a soft schedule this year. I truly believe the MAC West will be more about what NIU/UT/BSU can do to fill their voids. Lynch/Bishop/Ward are gone, Wenning/Snead/Newsome are gone, Owens/Fluellen/Reedy are gone. The MAC West is wide open. I don't think CMU will win it, but I think it's safe to say they will compete because 6-2 will likely win it.
You have to be the most envious, insecure fan I have ever heard of. You have the same method of operation every time you speak. The following is the exact same thing you post EVERY TIME:
"I think the MAC West sucks, its anybody's division. NIU is vulnerable they can be beat, they have many holes. CMU is as good as any team in the MAC. Having said that, I don't think we will win it, but it wouldn't surprise me if we did. Im not saying CMU is great, Im just saying everyone else is so-so, so there is no reason CMU can't win this game, but I don't think we have much of a chance"
Every time I read your post I want to bang my head.

Remember what John McKay once said about experience:
If you have everyone back from a team that lost 10 games, experience isn't too important.

My point, since you cannot read, was that the top teams (NIU/BSU/UT) are losing a lot of talent. While CMU is returning everyone. I predicted we would be 6-6 the past 2 years, which we were 7-6 then 6-6. This wear we have a soft OOC schedule. I think we can make 8-4. I am saying the MACW is wide open.
Take off the Huskie glasses and calm down. We will see when the game takes place and what the records are. Apparently getting slaughtered by BGSU then shut down by USU still causes an early menstrual cycle.

That looks about right. We have some NFL guys like Davis and Phillips, but there will definitely be some holes still. Our offensive line should be good, we will be better at QB (threw a Freshman into the first last year), and our RB (Tipton) was hurt almost all of last year. Offensively, it's impossible to say we won't be better.
But CMU typically has a trash defense so it could end up not mattering. Point being, returning the most starters in the nation is not a bad thing. We are not a great team, but we should be improved and like I said, 8-4 is my prediction. Good luck.

CMU has some talent, if thier coach woke up or hired an asst that knew what was happening, they would be dangerous.

CMU's trend is upward. I'm sure it's happening slower than the CMU fans want, but they do seem to be heading in a good direction. I'm not convinced their HC doesn't know what he's doing. It took Novak a while to turn things around too.

Uh, didn't Enos take over a team that had won like 3/4 MAC Championships?

He had nothing to turn around. How Enos still has a job is baffling. It's not like Butch Jones left CMU and took all the good players with him.

They also had Lefevour and a bunch of talent that got them the MAC Championships. They all left. They're in rebuilding mode, which is what pretty much every MAC team is doing when they graduate a good QB and don't immediately find another one.

Butch Jones is a damn good recruiter. I find it hard to believe that he left CMU w/ no good players.
