Wrong again on your statement of statistics. The only FCS school Eastern played in the eighties was Youngstown State. You are obviously thinking of the 2011 season when Eastern did play Howard and Alabama State in compiling a 6-6 record.

My apologizes. EMU has only had 3 winning seasons in 33 years. If the NCAA gave an award for worst FBS program, I think EMU would be yearly contenders.

Just think how it will look if they have a fog bowl like we have at NIU a few times. fog, grey field, grey uni's. It'll be the best EMU game ever, because no one will be able to see it.

Dear Big Man,
You are wrong again. Eastern had winning seasons in 86, 87, 88, 89, 95. I don't know how you do your research, but it is very inaccurate. Maybe you should take a class on how to research, rather then pull nonsense out of a hat, and then try to pass it off as fact.

Dear timxlydon,
Yes I did make that prediction. It was based on the season Eastern went 6-6 and even though we slipped to 2-10, the season after I thought it was time for a turn around. If, I had known about the turmoil that was going on with Coach English, I might not have been as positive. Not using that as an excuse, but from what we have heard since Coach English was fired, Eastern was doomed to have another losing season that year.

You and Big Man need to get more accurate in your using of statistics. It was four teams that Eastern beat that had only two victories, and we can't help it if teams on our schedule have terrible records. Ball State was 7-4, and Central Michigan was 4-7.
Trash talk? I am defending my school. Your posters are the ones talking trash.

God bless all EMU alumn. Having said that, your level of play and fan support reek of the FCS...

I remember 2007, the worst Huskie season of the last decade, and there were still fans showing up to the game, although Huskie Stadium was not getting sold out. But then we all knew it was a temporary phase.

But then I also remember the decade of losing seasons the Huskies suffered in the nineties, where learned helplessness had shrunk the Huskie crowds to about where the EMU crowds are now.

EMU has the same fan support any other MAC team would have with their level of "success". As for their level of play - definitely an average FCS team.

Kind of you to say Jon, my point with EMU is that there bottom dwelling has become such a lingering event, unlike most FBS teams who have bad seasons or phases on occasion, that perhaps they should actually move down and play with teams with similar fan support and play.

I remember someone from the Northern Star wrote an editorial suggesting the Huskie football team do just that back in the nineties for the same reasons. I won't mention his name, but he has his own website now.
