Even if the freshmen is better than the starter?
Calipari has made a career out of defying the theory that you cant win with a freshmen. I dont buy the idea that that only works sports other than football.

No actually, Hiller had far tougher competition than Stewart will have. So yeah, I bit.

He came in did to an injury and happened to have one of the better QB coaches in the country. Think we'd have that now? Idle boy.

Yes he did. And he has success.
You in your infinite brilliance have concluded that Charlie Molenar and Cubit were responsible for Hiller's success. Gee, I guess we can conclude that former NFL WR coach PJ Fleck is responsible for Cory Davis's success.
Imagine Dirty, Fleck went ahead and started true freshmen Cory Davis and GASP...........he didn't ruin him
Again, if a RS freshmen QB can win the Heismen and lead his team to a national title, I'm thinking a true freshmen might be good enough by mid October to move ahead of Zach Terrell. Yep, that's a giant leap of faith

Your question is vague. Are you saying Fleck sometimes didnt play the better player? When? Who?

My opinion is a QB's development is unique. And Chance is not coming from a premier program or top flight league. He has good potential, could be a real good player. Hard to say at this point if he will be better than Terrell or Thomas by mid season, might be some chance of that. But even if he is marginally better at the end of October, what is the effect on the team of disrupting everything mid-stream? Timing and style and the command of the huddle and the players trust in the coaches means a lot too. It is a judgement call I quess.

Oh so now you're trashing Terrell and annointing Stewart as the next Johnny Football?!
Yeah, nothing idle here. Keep moving people.....
Stewart the next Johnny Football? Nice try. That would be a lofty goal, I'm suggesting something much less lofty.
No, Stewart only has to show that by mid October he is a better option than Zach Terrell.

QB is unique particularly in a system like Cubit ran, where the QB was basically making reads and calling the play at the line. Fleck doesn't give his QB that much autonomy. Keep in mind, Zach Terrell was 3rd on the depth chart until Maddie left and TV was slowed by injuries. So it's not like Stewart is being asked to beat out a seasoned veteran with incredible career stats.
BG threw aside a veteran QB and went with a youngster. How did that work out for them?

Guys, lets not forget who is calling the plays on Offense. We don't have a proven Offensive Coordinator to put our offense in position to succeed. After this year if another 4 win season and horrible numbers on Offense, Fleck better FIRE Ciarrocca

I wasnt a big fan of Ciarrocca either. Thought he flat out lost the Nicholls game by going away from the run. But in hindsight he was working with a bunch of former back ups, an offensive line without an ounce of depth, and a QB who was a 3rd stringer coming out of springball.
I'll give them a free pass on last year. Baring injuries I expect a minimum of 4 wins with possible wins over OU at home, and on the road at Pee City.

What, I match you post for post for ONE DAY and suddenly I'm in a league with "Mr. 31,000 and change."

I LOVE when you "Fleck slappies" cut to the post count when you have nothing, especially when YOU ALL have numerous ID's, some known, many not, and shade it like post count is a bad thing when all I'm doing is exactly what you're doing here. Silly.
I can post in a matter of seconds, not an issue.
So yeah, you're IDLE CHIT with your prognostications, you always have been. Every summer you're all about how this team is the "next big thing" and every winter you're about how they didn't follow your plan.
What's it going to be this year, idle boy?

I know school recently got out, but when does the practice season start for college football?
Do the recruits come in a week or so earlier for orientation?
Thank you!

Of course it only takes you a second to post as your posts are totally devoid of any substance. Just on going jabs meant to keep people engaged in perpetual bickering. The subject matter is irrelevant to you as long e-bickering never stops.
