The rule is that it can only be one color. So one solid color like this is ok, but if they wanted to alternate gray and green, it wouldn't be.

A rule was proposed, but not passed, under which teams could not have worn a "monochrome" look where their jerseys and pants both matched the color of their field. Some coaches of Boise opponents have complained that it's difficult to watch Boise highlight video when they wear all blue uniforms and pants on blue turf that is the same color as the uniforms.

I can't find any rule prohibiting alternating colors on a field. I also can't find any evidence that Boise owns the exclusive right to a blue field, much less any other color. What they do have is a trademark of the phrase "Blue Turf" to describe a field. So somebody else can have a blue field as long as they don't describe it as "blue turf".

Boise claims right to all non-green fields.
