Where's the footnote stating Syracuse will only play @ Georgetown in late February?

Also need a footnote stating: Georgetown will allow CuseNation to buy tickets without BS policies
GTown typically averages about 10k for a BE game...Cuse game will sellout at nearly 21k in DC. Close to half of the fans will be wearing Orange.
I agree Esayam...this game needs to be in late Feb/1st weekend of March.

Definitely good news. SYR/GU should play every year - maybe on Jan. 1 or Christmas Day. Would that be cool?

Right, I was half joking based on Jim's scheduling antics, but that is a rivalry week game for sure.

I gotcha...LOL
BTW, when Cuse hosts I wonder if ESPN will package a doubleheader Blockbuster of GT@Cuse then Duke/UNC?
I assume when GT hosts Cuse it will be on FOX or FS1.

I love it ! Always an antic filled game. Guess GTown realized the BE needed a Big time game to respark interest.

I don't know last season when Nova was at Cuse on National TV playing in front of one of the biggest live and TV audiences of the season, GT was playing FIU in front of a TV audience of hundreds on FOX Sports something or other.

RE: OT: Cuse/Georgetown Renewing Rivalry in Hoops
1. great news, but old news. this has been a done deal going back to 1 & 1/2 years ago.
2. it is an overall win for the acc. going forward it will be a lot better that cuse won't have to force a major rivalry with another acc school to makeup for the Gtown void. sure we will develop our rivalries with pitt, ville, & BC, while starting new history with duke/unc. but now that there is that understanding that those games are no longer replacement games for gtown, it relaxes some of the animosity.
3. i absolutely love that both ville & cuse have their biggest rival OOC. it essentially puts them on equal footing when it comes to how they approach building new ACC rivalries and can allow each other to better develop into each others #1 conference rival.
4. I am really excited to see how the Gtown-cuse series goes forward. now that it is a one game a year series the games will be as intense as a H&H conference series.
5. this puts the final nail in the coffin for those looking to bash SU's OOC. SJU, Nova, gtown, & a top b10 opponent will be yearly occurrences for now on.

Great news. I would like to see ND sign OOC deals with Depaul, Marquette, Dayton and other schools whom ND played often as a basketball independent in the Seventies and Eighties.

I want UConn and Villanova, too.
I know that's murder's row with an ACC in conference schedule, but those are the teams that belong on our schedule.

I remember watching some of those games...the DePaul and Marquette games sometimes even received National Coverage back then.

RE: OT: Cuse/Georgetown Renewing Rivalry in Hoops
As an ACC fan, I think it's great when our top schools are regularly playing the likes of G'town, Kentucky, Michigan State, etc OOC. Bring 'em on! I'd love it also if Duke found a way to play UConn every year.
If you want to be acknowledged as the best conference, you should be playing schedules like that. Are you listening, SEC football?

Good News For Cuse...a Victory over Georgetown already
Chris McManus‏@ChrisESPNCNY5 mins
Daryl Gross says no mandatory donations or 3 game packages if SU fans want to go to the Verizon Center. It was a sticking point in the deal.

RE: OT: Cuse/Georgetown Renewing Rivalry in Hoops
Good for the Cuse, the Hoyas and college basketball in general.
4 Best Rivalry Games in CBB, imho are:
1) Duke vs UNC
2) Kentucky vs Louisville
3) SU vs Georgetown
4) KU vs Mizzou
Hope the latter see the light one day and start playing again.
Honorable mentions to the above in no particular order:
Cincy - Xavier
Michigan - Ohio State
Michigan St - Michigan
Michigan St - Ohio State
Oklahoma - Oklahoma St
UConn - SU
UConn - Pitt
Nova - Temple
and I'm sure I'm forgetting some others.
Cheers,
Neil

Always loved the annual ND, Kentucky rivalry. Some of the best games of the '70's and '80's with Dantley, Flowers, Trapuka and others.

Georgetown is abbreviated as "GU".
Georgia Tech is abbreviated as "GT".
Yeah, the Marquette, DePaul and Notre Dame teams were great rivals and perennial national powers. Regulars on NBC's Saturday games of the week, even back here in New England. Those 3 back then are a big part of what got me hooked on college hoops. Great intensity. Can't wait for DePaul to turn their program around.
