Hope they at least have access to the conference rules.

I get the effect of making such a statement, but I'm quite sure that the Presidents and AD's have that access.

Fans had that access, reporters had that access. Then someone wanted to hide something. You try to treat people like mushrooms they don't appreciate it. That includes fans and reporters.

Ok, so are you saying that the Presidents and AD's do not have access to the conference's by-laws as implied by GoApps70? If so, I think that's ridiculous.

I have no idea why the by-laws are password-protected. I also have never even thought to look for a college conference's by-laws. I'm honestly surprised at the amount of posters that are upset about the by-laws not being available on the website. I mean, I'm all for transparency so I think they should make them available, just surprised at the interest in the by-laws.
Are you kidding me. That was a joke.

He actually thought UL fans were chanting S-B-C during the first Mississippi State game; when what they were doing [quite clearly] was chanting S-E-C to mock the State fans.

He also said not one word in praise of the Cajuns performance in either Softball or Baseball, but he did make excuses for the poor performance of the conference as a whole in Baseball.

Can we not fire this idiot? Please??

I am for it. He is a loser.

After being in a conference run by John Iamarino, or as we like to refer to him Iamamoron, Benson is gold. It's all a matter of perspective.

Sure.

Step 1: Google "Sun Belt" "bylaws" "password" "protect"

Step 2: scan for results that look relevant

RE: Benson on Lafayette Radio
You were right, I was wrong. You are smart, I am not. You get the gist.

I didn't set out to defend Benson with my posts in this thread, but for all intents and purposes, I did. Last Friday, Benson was on the David Glenn Show with App State's David Jackson and Scott Satterfield guest-hosting in David's absence. The interview was horrible. As many have pointed out, he mentioned Boise State multiple times, and he called in while on the golf course and would actually put his phone down while he would hit a shot. It was unreal. So, while I still don't necessarily share the same level of disdain for Benson that many here do, I certainly understand it. Quite an eye-opener for this Mountaineer.

The guy did an interview while on the golf course...and had to pause the interview to take a shot? We call that "Busch League" here in the South.

HELLO!!! Lawd the man is not the greatest but far from the worst. You could just about insert any warm body in the role of the SEC commisioner and the SEC would be fine. The membership is by far what makes a conference great, the commisioner just makes minor course corrections dictated by the schools by the most part. The guy is not the greatest speaker and seems a little lost occaisionally but so does Slive everytime I hear him speak.

You can look at that two ways...should he have put down his golf clubs or should he have just claimed he was indisposed at the moment and declined the interview. You guys are tough. The guy's working during a golf game. That's dedication.

It was 10 minutes. I'm not being tough...it's live radio. Why agree to the interview if you're not going to be available the entire 10 minutes?

Agreed that's second rate...way to raise the Sun Belt profile...
