lol yeah...I busted out some old school lingo there hahaha
This is getting retar...ah nvm...I would feel bad for making that comparison....the mentally challenged are most likely better people than the P5 bigwigs, and could probably (easily) set up a better and more fair college football system.

That's the point. Rules are not about the entity you left: it's about the one you are joining. For example the rules to join the NBA draft are about what rules the NBA has, not what rules the NCAA has. Thus if a player is leaving a G5 and joining a P5 school, only the rules of the school they are joining matters. It is why a player can now transfer from FBS to FCS without sitting out. FCS doesn't force players from a higher division to sit out.
So we create a rule that we can take p5 transfers during the season. 2nd string gets pissed he comes to ucf due to injuries on our side.
Agree. Honestly, how many G5 players transfer to a P5 school? If the P5 does this, then the G5 should institute a similar rule - but only for P5 to G5 transfers - no sitting out a year if you come from OSU, for example - but you have to sit a year if you go from UC to UCF.
All this rule will accomplish is screwing up any stability among the P5 schools with players going to the highest bidder. I can't see how this will improve the game for the P5 - autonomy will ultimately lead to their downfall.

the p5 has autonomy, the g5 doesn't ...they can make rules for themselves .we need the approval of all remaining 300+ d1 schools to make any rules
Once the autonomy domino falls, there's nothing to stop the G5 from seeking autonomy themselves - and the NCAA wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they tried to stop it.

Once it falls, college sports is done as far as I'm concerned. I do not care to see the school that I root for develop a player just to see him now move on to a P5 school for his last year or two (without any kind of recourse for doing it). That is the same reason I can't get into minor league baseball.

the transfer rule isn't a certainty the pac12 want to change it but the big 10 has shown signs they dont
and the pac12 hasnt been specific about the changes other than to "loosen them"
