it's odd, and maybe even a little creepy, but my closest friends are liberals. we pick on each other's "weak spots" in terms of political philosophy, but over the years, we all just learned to respect the other's opinions when it comes to the "nuclear arguments".

what's also odd is that I really didn't realize how outnumbered I was until we were all more than a little drunk at a post wedding party a number of years ago, and the whole "Katrina thing" broke out. people that I had thought were apolitical for decades suddenly came out as liberals . . . turns out they just didn't choose to speak out.

I like a wide variety of musicians, from all over the spectrum...I could care less about their politics.

One of my best friends is an atheist..we used to get into every now and then but have learned its best to discuss religion.

I was friendly with this extremely liberal girl around the end of HS/beginning of college...she was very fun, but we moved away from each other. Politics never got in the way of our friendship.

I've never cared what Hollywood stars think about political stuff. I don't hold it against them or like them more because of their views on that. I just watch the movies.

My work lunch crowd is everything from far right to far left. We sometimes talk politics but keep it toned down.

I have never once brought up politics with any of my conservative friends. I do enjoy going shooting with them and that is a huge plus for having friends with opposite viewpoints.

the only person who ever pissed me off because of his political views was my freshman roommate ==> and he was a liberal.

Come to think about it, if politics is coming up in a discussion I'll probably try to leave the room, get on the phone, or something like that.

I usually just listen and only comment if asked a direct question. Most people where I live are far right GOP supporters. I only talk politics on here or in the political meetings I attend. I avoid facebook because it is hard for me to not say something if I strongly disagree with something someone says. I think facebook is the work of the devil.
