Navy is, in effect, NATIONAL. I love the division we are in. Except for Navy, which is tradition-rich, we have a history with the teams we will be playing.

Plus see page 1 of this thread --- the Navy coach wanted to be placed in the West in order to recruit Texas.

My wife's high school graduated four kids with service academy appointments Saturday. One West Point, two Annapolis, and one Air Force Academy.

How will the 5-3 rotation be determined?

Logical assumption would seem to be we play 3 of the 6 in the other division one year and the other 3 the next. Therefore if we play East Carolina twice over 4 years, we only have to travel to their place once every 4 years. The other time we would play them should be here at the Liberty Bowl; right.

Correct. That is the way it has been explained in interviews. I don't know who decides the first 3 teams you play in the other division, and where to start, but once the first rotation is decided, then everything else just rotates in order every year.

So if you get spanked by a team in the Eastern division, you don't get a shot to get them back for four years?

That's impressive. How many in the graduating class, if you don't mind my asking?

No, you play everybody in the other division every other year. Three of them in Year 1, and the other 3 teams in Year 2.

Then you flip road and home opponents for the next two years.

So, in 4 years, you play every East team twice, once at home and once on the road. Then, every 4 years, you start over.

This might turn out well for us. Over the long run Cincy should be a tougher opponent than Navy.

You never know how things will turn out over time, but it looks like the East will be a tougher division over the long haul.

There is no reason why we can't compete for the West in 2015.

About 1,000. That's one of five high schools in her district.

Yes it is. That might be a little on the high side, but traditionally they place two or three to the service academies every year. And a step further, there are always kids going to the Coast Guard or Merchant Marine Academies.

I'm glad to see this generation of kids so involved in possible military careers.
