The track was moved to the new track and field complex last year. The track is non functional and painted over at this time with bleachers covering a lot of it.
The later stages of the expansion plan included removal of the track, lowering of the field, and adding 3,300 seats in front of the first deck of the stadium, completion of the south endzone horseshoe, building of an east side skybox, and renovation of the east side concourse. The total cost for all planned expansions was around $100 million. The total seating capacity for a fully expanded Bronco Stadium was estimated to be around 53,000

Never heard of any team getting away from the exit penalty. They will pay plus lawyer fees + interest. Just the way it works with contracts. They don't have an argument.

Honestly if BYU decides to be reasonable about the tv rights then they will just join the Big 12. Even the biggest AAC homers will admit 60k+ sellouts every game plus a huge national Mormon audience sounds a lot more like P5 than AAC.
The only thing keeping BYU from being football only before was the ridiculous tv demands they made.
If you want BYU in the AAC prepare to offer a special tv deal that makes Boise St look like a great deal (plus Notre Dame style scheduling considerations).

Actually I don't think the American needs to do that. If BYU joins the Big 12, they have to sign over a GoR and join in all sports...if they join the American, they can go FB only and not sign a GoR. The question would be what does the Big 12 and BYU want to do...but I honestly think BYU may join the American (with Army FB) after Navy joins in 2015 and before the next TV negotiation with ESPN (who controls both entities)...and then the American gets more FB money. The end game may be the American then jumping on Air Force and Colorado State to go to 16 and bringing in BYU all sports in a 14/16 configuration. TV contract re-ups in 2019...if the Big 12 sits pat...that may be the re-alignment that transpires.

BYU made a historic blunder in 2011 by playing coy with a seemingly weakened Big 12.
Today, their only hope for remaining nationally relevant is to join the Big 12, but of course there's little sign that the Big 12 is interested in having them.
