In my opinion, however, if a team does not get into its own conference tourney (SEC), it shouldn't be in the NCAA tourney.

-G5 is not even a distinction that applies in college baseball. C-USA was labeled a "power conference" prior to realignment along with the Big West.

Yep, but bet your bottom dollar if Ohio State and Southern Miss/MT have similar records vs. Top 50, Similar wins, similar RPI----then the Buckeyes would get chosen for the last at-large position.

It is what it is.

Possibly but I would chalk those motives up to the NCAA's long-standing desire to "grow baseball" in the Midwest.

USM would generate more in terms of revenue for the NCAA.

What he said. It's be based on trying to grow baseball, not that they'd make more money.

I just threw Ohio State out there as an example. You can use UT-obKnoxiousville, as well. That wouldn't be "growing" the game.

But like I said, previously, the baseball NCAA tourney Selection Committee has been pretty fair over the years, IMO. The Sun Belt (normally just behind C-USA in RPI) rec'd 3 or 4 bids on several occasions.

I agree.

You could certainly argue that we didn't deserve a bid in 2009.
