Nice.

Interesting that against a RHP, Byrd is playing CF. Given how poorly Ford has been hitting (or NOT) of late, you'd think against a RHP, Byrd would play SS, and have Warren start in CF.

Teykl struck out
Aquino singled. Runner on 1B, one out.
Stainback shows me up with an RBI triple! 02-13-banana I should do this more often!
Cook sac fly! 02-13-banana
Byrd ground out to 2B.

Good guys take a 2-0 lead heading to the bottom of the third inning.

And, as has been our norm, not working the opposing pitcher at all-- swinging early in the count. I think the guy has thrown under 20 pitches the first 2 innings. NOT the way to beat a mediocre at best pitcher....but this offense never changes it's approach no matter what. VERY frustrating.

Dude, you know I love you, but, we are 50 games into the season, this team isn't changing anything - no matter how much you wish it so.

Nice production by Cook making sure the runner on third with less than two outs scores. This time via a fly ball/line out.

I love that whenever UTSA's Warren comes up to bat, Gametracker shows a picture of Rice's Warren. It reminds me of playground games, as if UTSA was short a player and we lent them Charlie.

Jon gives up a lead off single. UTSA has had all three batters leading off an inning reach base (error, walk, single).

I know I am supposed to only want Rice to hang a zero up here this half inning, but I am rooting formJon to get through his first inning without a walk...

Well the team seems to be doing fine without me...

Always great to tune in to a lead.

Through 3 innings, the crazy stats continue to skew in Rice's favor.

Rice 2, UTSA 0.
Rice LOB: 0, UTSA LOB: 6.
Jon with 6 Ks and 4 BBs.

Nutty.

BTW, Augie would love the efficiency in that Rice gets two hits and has scored two runs.

Shane leads off T4 with a single. Time for a bomb, JC.

No...time to bunt him into scoring position for McDowell and Ewing.
