NFL Draft: #1 pick...
Is not Mack. The Texans selected Jadeveon Clowney.
And with that, I have turned off the NFL draft.

RE: NFL Draft: #1 pick...
Thought I would never see us discussing two MAC players going first overall two years in a row, let alone once.

#5 isn't too shabby, before any players from the Big 10, Big 12, & Pac 12.

I saw that NIU's safety Jimmie Ward also went in the first round as did former UT DB Archie Donald's little brother out of Pitt (at 13)

First time since 2004 that two MAC players go in the first round.

Your post raises more questions than it answers:
How did Aaron Donald not end up at UT? Inquiring minds want to know...

Sounds as if you may not be all that interested in getting an answer (people with inquiring minds use to settle for reading the National Enquirer, so I've heard) but, rhetorical question or not, here is your answer: At the time Aaron Donald was in high school UT had THREE Penn Hills HS DBs starting for UT: Archie Donald, Tyrell Herbert whose 100 yard pick-six helped UT upset Michigan (even with that win UT only finished 3-9 that season) and of course Barry Church who is now a starter with the Dallas Cowboys. So it is was not that far fetched for a lot of people (evidently including Archie) to initially think that Aaron might end up at UT as well; however, in the end he decided to stay home and play for Pitt, which worked out well for him.

No takers for Jordan Lynch??? I know he's not typical size for NFL QB, but thought he had a shot...maybe he'll get picked up a a free agent.

He was signed by the bears. Sounds like they really like him at RB and special teams.

I guess it worked out well for him, his team beat BG, but if he had gone to UT his team would have beaten UofM.
Beating UofM > BG.
