Buckeyes LAX going to ECAC Tournament they are hosting
The Buckeyes Lacrosse team is not having the breakout season this year that they had last year, but they've opened their ECAC conference schedule with two wins and have qualified for the ECAC tournament to be hosted at OSU at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, in OSU's last year in the ECAC before the launch of Big Ten Lacrosse next Spring.

Nice. Should be a tougher league than people expect. Rutgers is finally looking alive again this year after several bad seasons in a row. Hopefully, we'll get back to being a regular tourney participant as we were until the mid 00s.

Nobody will rank up with the ACC, but I reckon the Big Ten will give the Ivy League a run for its money in the fight to see who is number two. And that's just on performance in the recent past ... the challenge of playing John Hopkins and the Terps every year is going to be good for Buckeye recruiting in the sport.

Ooh, and the Buckeyes beat Air Force 8-6, snapping the Falcons six game winning streak to move into the ECAC lead and pole position for the ECAC #1 seed.

Great to see the the growth in the sport and growing parity among teams. The rise of programs like Denver and Albany signifies a new crop of top shelf programs. That being said, Maryland will need to work hard to remain a top ten team year after year.

The last game, away to Fairfield, ended with a 5-7 loss, but still left OSU 3-1 in the ECAC and co-champions with Air Force and Fairfield. Its a triangular finish ... all three beating Bellarmine & That School Up North, OSU beating Air Force who beat Fairfield who beat OSU.
I haven't seen a bracket, but I would guess that Fairfield will be #1 and play TSUN in the semi-final, and OSU & Air Force will play for the other semi-final, since on both RPI and OOC record, Fairfield is ahead of both Air Force and OSU.
Its killing me that the tournament is on FS2, since that's on a premium tier on our cable system. The only way I get to see the Buckeyes play on TV is if they take out the ECAC tournament and grab the autobid to go to the NCAA tournament.

Have to love the Big Ten sponsoring lacrosse starting next year. BTN and ESPNU (for Hopkins home contests) will cover the games.

From LAX bracket watches I have seen, and also from looking at NCAA RPI's, Fairfield is the only prospect at being a bubble buster if they do not win the tournament ... both Air Force and OSU have to win the tournament to go to the Big BBQ.

Definitely, we have BTN on basic cable and ESPNU on the additional package that included HBO.

And now both Big Ten teams in the ECAC tournament are eliminated on the same day, Fairfield beating That School Up North, while Air Force broke out from a narrow lead over the Buckeyes in the first half to a commanding 3rd period performance to beat the Buckeyes.
So the Buckeyes can go to the LAX final, but only in the stands of Jesse Owens Stadium.
