Anyone else see this?

A little backhanded comment about our coach?

I wouldn't read too much into it. Dixon was given a lot of freedom offensively and our system prizes guards than can create off the dribble.

I assume that me meant that Ollie is a player's coach in context, severely doubt he is dissing a coach that believed in him and gave him heavy run.

I'd say his all Mizzou background wallpaper makes his comment more suspect. Who cares though? He is right about Ollie.

I'm not sure what Dixon watched, but I'm positive as he'll that Ollie doesn't nor will he ever just sit back and watch players play. Nobody on our team during any game we played was a Nappier. There is a huge difference between what Napier does versus players dribbling down the court and throwing up circus shots in double coverage looking more like they are getting electrocuted than resembling basketball players. Our players aren't Nappier like and Pastner isn't Ollie like. No comparison to be had here.

So for those who think its a criticism, I want to get this right - the theory is that Ollie is a champion because he doesn't coach too much. I bet the same people crucify our coach for talking about the importance of recruiting and players making plays, etc. Maybe Dixon thinks that's the right way to coach and people shouldn't criticize players' coaches. But we sure didn't have a Napier. No offense to any of our players, but shots that are bad shots for them are not for him bc he makes them.

Unfortunately, you are right about Pastner, at least at this point in his career.

I think he believing in his players comment is the shot...

You know when you get pulled for missing a shot or the what have you done for me lately substitution pattern that Pastner employs...If you truly believe in your guys you allow them to make mistakes and miss shots because you believe they are capable. If you don't believe you sit them next to you and hope the next guy does better. OUR GUYS PLAY SCARED when out there due to this.

What if it's a shot at people who talk about our lack of "offensive sets or plan"? Couldn't he just be supporting Josh?

I guess it is possible if you have on rose colored glasses. But did he always have Mizzou as his background or did he change it back

Dixon said it wasn't a shot at anyone, maybe its people around here looking for something negative with their own dark glasses on that are on a fishing exhibition. Mike always had a Mizzou background on there

A more accurate assessment:

Ben C ‏@systemdek 10h

That is exactly right. It's a two-way street.

Plus solid, tough, defensive minded leadership on the sideline (Ollie) and on the court (Napier).
