If we are hopeful that Tulsa will be HORRIBLE in years to come, Gottleib would be a fantastic hire.

BUt I will say he is smart to leave while he can still get another job...He wasn't getting to the dance again with Tulsa any time soon.

100% correct. Tulsa got hot at the end of the season and got by Tulane, MTSU, & La. Tech, to get to the NCAA tournament.

The jury is still very much out on Manning, as a coach.

Manning was smart for getting out. He will get more money when he gets fired in 4 years.

According to the Tulsa and Naples newspapers, Joe Dooley of Florida Gulf Coast is a prime Tulsa target.

Not so long ago they had Tim Duncan and Randolph Childress leading them to ACC championships and the Elite 8.

I agree with that.

He did well...and they ran off 11 consecutive to make the tourney.

Do that for the next few seasons at Tulsa and yes. But one tourney after a 17-16 first season seems a little quick. Hell- our coach has had Memphis in 4 consecutive tourneys, the last three as a team that was a lock to make it, advanced in the tourney the last two seasons and looks for all the world to have another team next year that will be a lock for the tourney and we will see if they are able to be great- and the thugs argue he sucks.
