dayton was never in the missouri valley conference. they were in the great midwest conference with us for 2 seasons (93-94 & 94-95). when cusa was formed, dayton was not included because they do not play football.

With Oliver and Kavanaugh graduating, they won't be quite the force they were this year. I would love to see a series with them.

Yes it was back in the Jim Paxson days.

I think that Dan O may go back to the Donnie May and Henry Finkel days.

I think that May was known to the entire basketball world outside of Memphis as Don May, but for some reason Jack Eaton called him Donnie and that was adopted as his first name here.

Yep

Damn! You guys are old! Did they have a jump ball after every made basket back then? : )

They were in the Great Midwest Conference for two short seasons. I seem to remember an altercation at a game up there.

Back in the good days when you could have a fight in a game and not have to sit out the next game.

Wasn't it Cedric Henderson that got in the fight at Dayton?

ummm, your sarcasm meter must be shorted out.

I am what is known in Tiger parlance as a Happy Clapper.

And to tell anyone to stay home from Tiger football games is just the dumbest thing you could say. When you becoming the ******* Liberty Bowl police then you can tell me to stay home.

Nope, no Liberty Bowl police here. Subject of the thread is about the Dayton band and the conversations went on to why Dayton was not invited to one of our former conferences because they don't have a football team. Then you inject a cute little look at me post, saying we also don't have one either. Now, if that's what floats your boat have at it, couldn't care less one way or the other. But hey, didn't mean to ruffle your feathers, please do come to the Liberty Bowl for a Tiger game this fall, you just may be entertained, because we do have a football team.
