I believe that this will be the pattern as long as he is the head coach here. My attitude has gone from excitement to cynicism and apathy and I believe that that is really sad.
I believe that just making the tournament is not good enough and I believe with Pastner at the helm, we will be great on paper and underachievers on the floor. Lastly,I believe in raising expectations not settling for high level mediocrity and disappointment.

What is your expectation level? What is the best means to achieve it? What can we do as fans of the team and school we love to make positive contributions to achieve your expected level?

The carping, complaining, and vitriol toward Pastner by some folks is tiresome and predictable. I try to accept it as the price of passion for our team and school assuming they make actual positive contributions to the program (eg, you going to the Canadian games).

I have no expectations for this year but I sure as hell do not want a repeat of the conference tournament last year. The memory of sitting in those stands while we got our asses handed to us on our home court is forever etched in my brain.
We're going to struggle some, but I would *really* like to see a focus on fundamental, lock-down D. That's something you have control over.

"I'm giving this team a pass this year. Just get these new guys some experience and watch out next year. Austin and Shaq down low, an experienced back court and the addition of the Lawson's (and maybe Skal) will make us serious contenders next year."

Oh I'm sure they'll find someone
Not someone, but youth will be a big one.
Doesn't matter. Those 2 count a negative as CJP not properly doing his job by having so much youth. Picking nits and screaming like the 2 whiny baby girls they are.
I'm convinced that we have enough right now to be a top 25 team with the Sweet 16 as our ceiling. I haven't seen Burrell so I don't know if he can play the two; but IMO, Pookie is ready and Kedren changes everything. Those were our only two question marks.

Fans will find someone to throw under the bus.
This is Pastner's sixth season and after his third the program was entirely his. He has always taken full responsibility...which is a good thing considering they have been pretty good most of the time. Him disciplining players or recognizing performances, good or bad...s hardly throwing anyone under the bus.
The narrative here is as though our teams have been failures, which they have not - outside the narrow view of a few who hype up this odd theme.
We want them to move from really good to great- quite possibly that may happen.
Just two weeks away, hopefully folks are able to actually enjoy the Wichita State game, a great opponent that presents a unique challenge, that we just very well may meet. Can Shaq and Nichols lead the the team through this? I believe they can.
