I think the same can be said of ALMOST any of the teams in the tournament:ON A GIVEN DAY, they could beat anybody, and ON A GIVEN DAY they could also lose to Slippery Rock. It's not as if we're the only team with that problem.

There's a group of 8-10 teams right now that are peaking and playing solid basketball.

And there is the rest as you mention.

We are capable of beating any team when we bring our "A" game.

Not many disagree. Problem is we bring our A game once and then it disappears for a few games.

It's more than just making shots. Some days you make them, some days you don't. The constant for all great teams is defense, something we haven't done to well as of late. They made shots and we didn't is the easy way excuse of why we've lost games. The Tigers better damn well start playing some serious defense or next week will be the end of our season....GO TIGERS!!!!

I had that thought right after that game. You could certainly make an argument that we haven't totally bounced back from that loss yet, although the Louisville game had me convinced.

I do think, given that road loss to UConn as a backdrop, that once they got ahead of us in the quarterfinal, our team lost their confidence and basically gave up. Really our confidence was already lost, And we needed something good to happen early in that game to restore it, but it didnt happen. UConn is certainly a bad matchup for us, and I don't want another shot at them this season.

This right here I have been taking about with my dad and friends about since Thursdays debacle. I really think they lost confidence after that game and they have just needed something to go right for them. Joe has been lost since that game. Shaq as well.

And yes that is the coaches job to get them over it but when you play as well as they did in that game and have it totally taken away from you by the guys in striped shirts it sticks with you awhile

I guess Josh will tape his coach's show before we know where we're going. He will talk about it more on his radio show Monday night.

True, let's hope the Tourney brings out the best in our team. It is the ultimate showcase for college basketball.

It's now or never. Right or wrong, this team will be remembered on how it does in the big dance. Hope these seniors give it their best.

I think a big problem with our percentage is that we don't shoot from 12 - 18 feet. It seems it's either a 3 or a driving floater / layup. Austin and Shaq have taken a few lately, but it seems the first time they miss, they're reluctant to take another one. I would rather have them go 0 for 30 from 15 feet than it be 4 of 20 from 3 pt land.

Sure, you've got to take 3's to make 3's and even if you start out 0-5, you can't simply give up, but far too often, we'll be at 3-13 and are trailing because we're wasting possessions jacking up 3's instead of shooting higher percentage shots. Part of that is because we don't have a true small forward on the floor.

One of the most crappy problems we have is to lose IQ on shot selection right after we make a 3. In the UConn game, Chris hit a wide open 3. Nice shot. On the next possession, he then followed it up with a 3 point shot that was well contested and about 5 feet beyond the arc with 25 seconds or so left on the shot clock. Of course, that shot bounced wildly off the rim, and led to an easy transition bucket for UConn.

Those plays are the ones where, in the stats, it appears that we suck at defense.

You can take the kid out of AAU, but sometimes it's hard to take the AAU out of the kid. And it kills us at times.
