Teams can't really double the bigs because the guards can shoot now and the bench is good. The front office did a great job putting this team together.
I will repeat something i said here once I realized that nick calathes was going to be ok at backup pg (because i admit i had doubts early). When healthy, we got a deep team full of talented players at every position with a team first mentality.
Looking over the season, it looks like january 10th was a turning point in the grizz season. Before jan 10th, grizz were 15-19. Since jan 10th, grizz are 24-8.
Breaking it down further, grizz record vs playoff teams (all current playoff teams + phoenix) is 18-20. Grizz record vs everyone else is 21-7.
Before jan 10th, grizz were 5-14 vs playoff teams (3 wins on road) and 10-5 vs everyone else.
Since jan 10th, grizz are 13-6 vs playoff teams (5 wins on road) and 11-2 vs everyone else.
FWIW: Memphis owns tiebreaker over portland and phoenix. Dallas owns tiebreaker over grizzlies. Very doubtful that changes. Grizz currently own tiebreaker over golden state, but it could change. If grizz beat golden state on march 28th, they will own the tiebreaker vs them too. Otherwise it goes to conference record.
Tiebreaker rules:
(1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division
(2) Head-to-head won-lost percentage
(3) Conference won-lost percentage
(4) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, own conference
(5) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, other conference
(6) Net Points, all games
