I'd say today locked UC into no worse than a 4 seed. I think a trip to the conference tourney finals gets them a 3 seed. Win the AAC and depending on other tourney outcomes I could see an outside shot at a 2. I think there is little difference between a 2 and 3 seed so UC has to focus on winning 2 games next week.

I'd say 4 seed right now...

If we win the AAC I think we get a 3 (depending on what other teams do in the Top 12).

I think we are right on the 3/4 border right now. 2 wins in Memphis should lock up a 3 seed, although I think its possible with only one. We would need a lot of help to get a 2 seed but if we get another road win at Memphis and beat Louisville on a neutral court I think we would have to be in the discussion. At that point we would be 29-5 with a ton of quality wins.

Looking at tonight's games we need to root for:
Duke
Providence
Indiana
New Mexico

According to Lunardi, the #3 seeds are:

Syracuse
Creighton
Iowas State
Michigan

Any of those stumble and we win the AAC tourney and we'd have a good argument for a #3 seed.

The other #4 seeds are: North Carolina, Louisville and Michigan State.

It will be interesting.

Now that I'm in the right thread: it doesn't matter, just don't give them a Thursday and Saturday Noon game and I'll be pleased.

It's all about match-ups anyway.

Win out, take what you can.
I think we'll likely end up facing UConn, then Louisville if we make it past UConn.
Assuming the winner of the UCF Temple game doesn't catch us napping.
I think we could take the whole thing, be nice to have another showdown with UL. One for all the marbles, who knows when we'll get them again?

I'll be extremely disappointed if the selection committee gives the Small East second place team a higher seed than either AAC Champion.

I would think we are a 4 seed maybe even a 3 seed. If we win the AAC Tournament we could get a 2 seed if some other teams go out early in their tournaments.

I agree woth what most are sayig. A virtual lock for a 4 seed. A really decent chance for a 3 seed. We'd need some help, but a 2 seed is a possibility.

I don't want to face UNC.

Iowa State scares me.

If UC wins the AAC tourney, I think they will be a #2 seed, and deservedly so. If we get to the conf. tourney final vs. UofL and lose, we'll be a #3.

I hope so, BJ, but I think the 3-4 line lies between the Friday night game and the Saturday night game.

Barring a 1st round exit in the conference tourney, I think we are a 3 and if we win the conference tourney, we will get a 2.

The resumes of the 2-4 seeds are not that far apart as it goes. So really could be a wait and see. I do think 2 seed will be the landing spot if we win the AAC tourney.

Our projected RPI if we finish 29-5 and win the conference tournament is 8.1. I know RPI is flawed and not the be-all-end-all, but that would put us in strong consideration for a 2 seed.

Right now I have the Bearcats somewhere near the 3/4 border The biggest issue with UC's resume is the 11 games against sub 200 teams; however, six of those games are conference games. Hopefully Rutgers can get back on the right side of 200 but the committee might my dock the American schools.

The Bearcats have 9 wins over the top 64 plus a win over NC Central who has the 16th best winning percentage this season and hopefully wins their tournament. The non-conference schedule helps distinguish UC from Louisville. Pitt, NC State, Nebraska, and Xavier are NCAA bubble/NIT level team, MTSU tied for the C-USA Championship, New Mexico finished second in the Mountain West, and NC Central only suffered one conference loss on their was to the MEAC championship. Thats a 5-2 record against teams that either going to play in the NCAA tournament or NIT. Louisville on the other was 1-2 against those types of opponents in the non-conference.

#4 seed but closer to home.
UofL will get a better seed unless UC beats them in the tourney.
UofL is a darling of the media and is always treated as such.
