Watched UNM-SDSU last night. We didn't get any help from the Lobos. Blew a 16 point lead 04-jawdrop

Bracket Matrix today has UC as the top #4 seed.

BJ,

A bit like us, I'd say. Good overall length. They play very hard on the defensive end, but scoring can be a challenge. What I do not see is a definitive go-to guy.

Kirk and Bairstow were basically having their way for about 27 minutes, and the Aztecs went into this wicked 1-3-1. It was 41-25 at the time, and the final score was 51-48 (three of those coming on a meaningless last-second three by the Lobos). Spectacular comeback.

Nothing against them, but if they are a #2, I'd like to be the #3 beside them. I think you need balance in the tourney, and, as tough as our offense goes at times, I think it is better than theirs.

What about Wichita State ?

I think a 4 but hoping an AAC Championship will earn them a 3.

An AAC tournament championship could get the Cats a two seed but no worse than a three seed. I could see UC earning a three by just winning one or two games in the tournament depending how other things break. No worse than a four seed no matter what happens; however, I am more concerned with who UC plays than the seeding.

Absolutely right; the opponent can have more bearing on the outcome than a two seed swing up or down at this point. For the first time in a long time, UC has a superb resume entering the conference tournament. While a first game loss in Memphis would be disappointing (don't see that happening by the way) I don't think it would drop them any lower than a four seed at this point.

Finally, if the freshmen come to play as they did on Saturday, watch out. These Bearcats can make a serious run with that kind of scoring off the bench.

RE: Guesses on NCAA tourney seeding
I saw a bracket from NBC sports today that had us as a 3 seed. The 6 seed was St. Louis. The 11 was a play in game between Tennessee and Nebraska. The 2 was Kansas and the 1 was Wichita St.

These things are so up in the air that the match ups from bracketologists mean next to nothing, but that would be a great draw. Even Kansas, whose size I think would give us a lot of trouble, is vulnerable right now with Embiid's back injury.

RE: Guesses on NCAA tourney seeding
Looking at the latest Bracketology - we're the #4 seed in the Midwest with matchups of: Iona, Michigan State (or Arkansas or Dayton) and Witchita State (or, of the others, SMU) - all good matchups.

The #3 seeds currently are: Virginia, Creighton, Iowa State and Syracuse. Assuming we win the AAC, either Virgina or Syracuse will lose which may open up a #3 seed for us.

With Michigan and Wisconsin at #2 seeds and one definitely losing, we may move to #2.

It will be an interesting journey this week, but it means nothing if we don't win. GO BEARCATS!! 04-bow

RE: Guesses on NCAA tourney seeding
Iowa State will not get a three seed unless they make it the final of the Big XII tournament. I think they will be grouped with Oklahoma and Texas somewhere around the 4 through 7 range. The Big XII played a true round robin schedule and Iowa State finished tied for third with Texas and behind Oklahoma. All three schools have roughly equal profiles and probably will be seeded no more than one seed line away from each other.

I also hope the committee is smart to figure that Virginia's ACC schedule was very easy. Only played Duke, North Carolina, and Syracuse once. Out of that group only the Duke game was on the road. UVA had mirror games with Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Florida State. Every team in the American played twice the amount of top 50 conference games as Virginia did.

I like SDSU has a two seed. Great non-conference resume, only team to win at Kansas this season, beat Creighton and Marquette at a neutral site. The Mountain West champion only have three losses and should be in consideration for one of the top 8 spots on the bracket.
