Why didn't we call timeout at the end? Were we out?

Free throws killed us yet again. We were a good free throw shooting team at the beginning of the year. What happened?

Tulsa up by two over North Texas. If Tulsa wins, we are the 8th seed.

53-47 UAB.

MT scores the final 8 points to win 53-55.

It's been that kind of season.

Haase gets kickbacks for everyone he has left at the end of the game.

RE: Game thread MTSU part two
It was the right call not to go for the timeout at the end. We got the rebound with like four seconds left. If we call the timeout, MTSU sets up a full court press, and we don't even get the ball across halfcourt before the buzzer.

Frazier was able to get off a semi-clean floater with the no-timeout.

The better question to ask is why are we so poor at closing out games? It's plagued us all season.

RE: Game thread MTSU part two
The bigger missed timeout was on the previous time that we had the ball.

We still could have gotten it to half court with 2 or 3 seconds left.

I don't have too big of a problem with Haase's timeout philosophy. He's consistent with it and it is how he was taught. Wish it worked tonight though.

RE: Game thread MTSU part two
Looking at the box score, tonight was yet another game where we make as many field goals as the other team, but still wind up on the losing end.

MTSU made one more three-pointer and one more free-throw.

RE: Game thread MTSU part two
If I recall correctly, the team that hits the most 3 point shots has won all but 2 of our games. And in those two games, there was a pretty large talent differential.

Because we're a terrible at shooting the ball.
