Probably adapting to depth issues last season. With Orr and Drane both being injured at one point or another.

Some early observations from the first day of UC spring football practice:
- Ralph David Abernathy IV, the starter all of last season at RB, has been moved to slot receiver. Abernathy (5-7, 161) will thus be used more in space, where he tends to fare better.
-Rod Moore has been moved from DB back to RB. Moore was a highly regarded JUCO RB when UC signed him in 2013, but he was switched to DB during the season. Now, he joins holdovers Hosey Williams and Tion Green back in the RB mix.
-Gunner Kiel (jersey #11) took the first snaps at QB during 7 on 7 today. JUCO transfer Jarred Evans (jersey #12) is the backup for now. Both are expected to play this season. Kiel is bigger (6-4, 208) than Evans (6-2, 190), and both showed nice touch on their passes today. Kiel is more the classic dropback passer but has mobility. Evans, who shows a quick release, is considered a dual threat as passer and runner.
-5th-year senior QB Munchie Legaux, wearing his red jersey #4, was at practice today working on the side. He is attempting a comeback from his severe knee injury, and is not expected to return to full practice before summer.
-WR Javon Harrison, hurt in the car accident that killed UC OL Ben Flick last September, is back to practice. WR Mark Barr, injured in the same accident, remains with the program but is not playing.
-Jeff Luc, expected to take over at MLB for Greg Blair, has switched his jersey number from 48 to 1. (Abernathy wears #1 on the offensive side, with dual numbers permitted as long as the players are not in the game at the same time).
-QB Bennie Coney, TE Travis Johnson, DB Trenier Orr and LB Corey Mason are among Bearcats not returning and/or transferring.

I don't like hearing that "both will play". It just doesn't seem like either will be able to get into a rhythm if they sub them in and out so often.
I wish they would just pick a QB and stick with him.
I assume "both will play" is a motivational technique to keep the obvious #2 from giving up. Who knows when his number would be called.
First posting - been reading and lurking for years.
That's what I'm hoping for but if I'm remembering correctly, Munchie and Kay both played in the Purdue opener (even before it got out of hand). Who knows if that would have continued if Munchie stayed healthy but in any case, not what I like to hear. One QB should start, the other should only be used in gadget plays every few games (kind of how Luallen was utilized).
Welcome to the boards!

Good to hear about Javon and Mark. Glad they are still with the team, and that they are recovering as best they can.
