Even if UConn or Memphis weren't recruiting him (and I tend to think this is the case, since like Oka I follow recruiting and never heard about him) a top 100 caliber of player is certainly more than good enough to play at either school, especially since both schools take players below that.

This is a very good grab by SMU.

The caveat is that it's very early, we don't really know how kids in the middle of their junior seasons are going to pan out, and that goes for UConn's 2 top 50 verbals as well. They may fall off out of the 100, as happens frequently. You have to trust your coach's eye for talent, and Larry Brown has been at it a long time.

We don't have to worry about Lawson falling off he is a mini Kobe

I don't follow other schools' recruiting, so I'd have no way to know if your school was still on the kid or not. Many times these offers occur so early that they aren't committable anymore. But if you offered him, you must have liked him at some point, right??

Know San Diego St wanted Sedrick. . . Think Sedrick's mom & dad both played college basketball at San Diego St.

Not a problem. No way for you to tell. Doesn't diminish the fact that he's a good get.

It's just that you cannot go by the recruiting service's, or even the recruit's, list of offers. Lots of them never really occurred, and of the ones that occurred, a number of those aren't "commitable" offers. It's not b/c of the length of time, either. You just can't assume anything from the lists.

That was the was the point. The obsessive need to clarify. You live longer if you chill. But it makes no difference to me.

The title insinuated that Memphis and UConn were after this guy when they only had mild interest. Nothing wrong with clarifying that point, take your own advice or find some other **** to ***** about.

There's plenty to like about a top 100 recruit. In Memphis' case, I believe the 2015 class is going to be so stacked that we need to go the Juco route next year versus picking up another 4 year top 100 recruit. It's all about the future availability of scholarships.

Memphis and UCON's offers reportedly came in late 2012 according to Rivals/Scout and 247.com shows a UCONN Coaching visit too. But too stale to establish commitable offer.
