All you can ever ask for is a chance to win.
Like they had a chance?
We had a chance and that is a credit to our guys. Hoop is right, they grab that last rebound, we get a huge win.
But the refs did screw us.
I guess you're both right? Imagine that

6 free throws in regulation. 6.
Keeps a game closer. While yes- if shooting only 6 free throws - or 9 less than our previous low of 15- while they shot 24 free throws- was absolutely correct- then indeed, getting one more rebound probably means a win.
But when the reality is you should have had about 3-4 more points at the line while they should have had 3-4 fewer- a 3 point lead becomes 10 or 11- and we win regardless of that one single play.
In THIS game- we were screwed. No whining about refs in any of the other 5 losses- and would even go so far as to say we got a call down the stretch at Louisville. But we were screwed royally yesterday- brave soldier do better Tigers I am so wise I never evaluate the refs pucky not withstanding.
Oh, please. NOT AGAIN!

Everything else is excuses.
Nice to see our own fans can't find it in them to criticize the refs or give our guys any credit. Pathetic.

I understand but its 2 days later and even I am still irked by this game for some strange reason whereas other losses I'm good after a day of mourning

It'll be a while before most get over this one. Total screw job and it hurts me for our kids who played their hearts out, and for what? To be screwed by some old farts with an obvious agenda. Where is the consistently and accountability?

Exactly, the guys gave it their all for the most part and dominated on the stat sheet other than the final score and its like 'what just happen'?

I get your point, but still, 36-9 is a bridge pretty hard to cross. And our guys were far better than UConn on the boards over the whole game.
I don't think I've seen teams lose -27 on FTA.
You are right in a micro sense, but it seems narrow to focus on one missed rebound when the Tigers fought through so much adversity...
He know it, Sundanceuiuc. Hoopsdream just enjoys being contrary by picking one play out of the 573 from Saturday's game. Of course, 329 of those plays wee impacted by the refs, including the FB coach's brother.
So I'll be like Hoopsdream and pick ONE play that might have had a major impact on the game. And not one of the countless fouls that should have been called on UConn. Nor is it one of the 4-5 phantom fouls called on Dixon, Johnson, or Jackson when they stripped UConn and were about to initiate a fast break.
No, I'll go with the Husky being about 4 feet out of bounds on that save that the refs somehow failed to call OB on. Let's be blunt, the kid was almost up in the front row with the fans. That was in OT and ended with a key Boatright 3 pointer. Call that as 99.999999999% of refs in America do on a regular basis and MEMPHIS wins.
Damn, micro-analyzing one specific key play is fun.
