I just assumed they were already banned...
Cue theTulsa guy who always writes the 5-2* winning streak against UCF lol.
All i gotta say is BEEEEE-SEEEEE-ESSSSSSSSS
Is it possible to kick them out though if we want to have a true western division? And how much would that cost the conference in the future?? Like when the Big East kicked out Temple, I'm sure they got severance, no?

No TV, no fans, and they add to the perception that the American is indistinguishable from the other G5. He should have held those two spots for other G5's that distinguish themselves over time heading into the next TV contract.
That says a lot based your your football (age) and performance this year and the fact your team has limited history in football. I for one am so proud to be in a conference with UCONN.
Truth of the matter is the AAC will be a national conference of the next up schools. Both Tulsa and Tulane will not bring down this conference we will have an impact on several fronts. (Geography for recruiting, excellence in academics, alto competitive on the field)
UCONN will end up in the BIG or ACC at some point and believe it or not so may TULANE and TULSA.
Tulane or Tulsa in the Big 10 or the ACC? Someone needs to check into rehab.

Agree or disagree with their program joining the AAC, I don't understand the hate towards Tulsa or their fans. I respect what they've accomplished given their enrollment size.

I agree. Whether you agreed or disagreed with their addition, they are coming now. It's best to support them now. I support Tulsa and Tulane 100% and wish them the best.

Perception. Everytime i think of them, i'd say they're a MAC or Sunbelt team but purely glorified. Sort of a stronger version of NIU but without the BCS appearance

It also helps that the AAC has made peace with ESPN...And it is true...going forward it appears the AAC is the best and Strongest of the GoF..

The conference may have, but not some of the members...

Small yes, but they have top notch academics. And as others have stated, Tulane and Tulsa are like a Wake Forest or Duke, minus the huge TV payday. Give them time and I think they will make the AAC proud. Just my opinion, but I don't think these two schools are small time, even if they are small in size.

That's where we agree to disagree.
If you wanted academics, take Rice instead lol. Hell of a baseball program too

Yes, agree to disagree. UH already covers Rice's TV market. No added value, and even though OK is a smaller market it is just as "football crazy" as TX is.

My theory is that Aresco and the AAC school presidents are trying to emulate the P5 conferences in everything. That being said, most P5 conferences have a couple of private schools that have large endowments and great academics. Tulane and Tulsa fit those bills and like those other private schools, they have athletic programs that struggle. Oh and UCF's president is a Tulane graduate. Think he sponsored Tulane's membership, so ....yeah...

RE: Good AAC article
Tulsa had the best overall athletic program in CUSA since 2005....seriously.
And their market is actually bigger than New Orleans.
I think both were good adds....in order to be taken seriously, you have to have an academic component to your conference...and both of these schools add that.

If that was the thought then that's a problem...those private academic schools remain in the P5 conferences because they have built relationships with conference members and are grandfathered in. If conference affiliations ceased to exist and those relationships were disregarded, those schools would NEVER find their way back into a P5. They'd be on the outside looking in because they wouldn't bring enough to the table on their own.

Tulsa doesn't sound good to most people, but they usually have good football and basketball. I'm not thrilled with them, but I think they will surprise people. Tulane is getting better in football but they need to step up in basketball.

Both good points
Now if these future private academic schools represent the conference as powerful attorneys/advisors at time of need, I'll buy their invitation in strengthen the AAC.
Otherwise, I hear or see nothing.

Not crazy about the Tulsa add, but I do admit they have nice facilities... renovated football stadium (2008), relatively new basketball arena (1998) and soccer stadium (2003)

You want a school with a large endowment Rice has one in the range of 5 Billion dollars with a capital B. Double down on Houston, LA has UCLA (public) and USC (private), be the same situation in Houston. Let the 2 schools build a synergy, they have a rivalry and they student bodies really do not like each other.
