That is where my frustration lies, winning is not really considered, just conference affiliation.
No....wins against good teams matter. Your conference can help you get those. The MAC does not help you get top 50 wins. The Big Ten does. It's rather simple.
The problem is conferences like the Big 10 get the inflated rankings in the RPI to start the year because they play exclusive home schedules for the most part. Then once conference season starts you have the perceived great teams losing to the bad teams in the conference, and instead of the realization coming that the whole conference was overvalued, it is instead spun as "WOW! The Big 10 is so deep because Illinois beat the number 1 team! Or Wow Nebraska beat MSU!" In essence, the conference is not as good as initially thought, its just how the big conferences get all these teams in.
That's a different argument. Yep, the schools with money can do what they want schedule wise and it's not fair. But bubble teams can argue the automatic bid is unfair too.

Has NIU already finished fourth in the West?
Answer: No, there are six games still to be played so the standings can still change. So only this much is true, as of today, the Huskies are fourth in the West.
Is Michigan locked in ahead of Michigan State in a tiebreaker?
No. MSU is at Purdue tomorrow, then plays at Michigan on Sunday and has three other games. UM hosts the Spartans on Sunday and also has four other games to play. So only this much is true, as of today, Michigan and MSU are co-leaders.

Big wins on the season for each.
Nebraska wins:
@ #9 Michigan State
#17 Ohio State
Georgia
Minnesota
NIU
Minnesota wins:
@ Richmond
Florida State
#11 Ohio State
#9 Wisconsin
Toledo wins:
Cleveland State
@ Akron
Ohio
NIU
Delusional man.
Don't be alarmed of that loud popping you just heard, its just the Gopher bubble bursting. Just a real bad loss against a real bad Illini team.

That "real bad" Illini team would be Toledo's 2nd best win in the eyes of the selection committee if they played tomorrow and Toledo won.
But, yes, Illinois probably just killed off Minnesota and has a chance to do the same to Nebraska next week.

yep that's exactly what I was saying, its that type of crooked, illogical view which makes the selection committee completely a joke. I couldn't call a UT victory over Illinois quality when Illinois had lost something like 10 of their last 11 lol

Neither would the selection committee.

RE: MAC basketball this year
Its official Toledo is getting in. Dave Kaplan doing color for the YSU @ Valpo game on ESPN3 said he talked to Jerry Palm at the break who is at the game and asked him about the at-large chances for Toledo. Palm said "no chance". I think we all know that means its certain Toledo is getting in.

Don't forget Toledo beat Boston College at BC, who beat Syracuse in the carrier dome.
But Toledo has no chance at an at-large bid. Plus I'd rather see them win the MAC tourney.
