The cusa tourney goes to the location that bids the highest, no more no less. There are no minimums or maxims, just the highest number EXCEPT if New Orleans bid $1mil and UTEP bid $1mil it would go to New Orleans due to central locations, etc.
Let me repeat -
All indications coming out of Dallas is that the million dollar guarantee is off the table for 2014-2015
There will be some guarantee but it will NOT be $1mm -
So I guess they are saying that the bid must be less than one mil or they wont accept it.
No, I'm saying that the conference has concluded that NO ONE will be willing to ante up a $1,000,000 guarantee during this transition period -
BIG DIFFERENCE
So what you are really saying is the conference is admitting they have screwed the pooch and folks better get ready to accept the fact that we are now bottom feeders.

USM is tied for 1st place and has a good chance of winning the conference - enjoy it - surely life is not that bad EE

Winning or losing has nothing to do with the fact the Cbelt is watered down whereby there is no one willing to fork up the big bucks like in the past due to national indifference toward the league. Jut wait until media contract expires-prepare for the shock.

It's so easy to say thousands of your fn base would drive to the tournament. Or to reference a specific event that your school had a good turnout. It's a daytime weeklong event. What El Paso did in 2011 was amazing.
Enlighten us newbies? What did you do in 2011? Not sure your point of this? Its all hypothetical depending on your teams success and a lot of other factors, WKU has history of traveling well in basketball.....Birmingham is probablly the only place where we take a lot of fans.....I plan on making 2015 CUSA tournament wherever it is...
What El Paso did in 2011 was show that the city can support the C-USA Basketball Tournament. After a lot of negativity especially from Memphis fans who were saying that El Paso could not support the tournament at all that year, El Paso ended up proving everyone wrong as it was financially successful! Think of it, El Paso was the most furthest west out of every city in the league yet El Pasoans came out to support the event.
I'm sad that Western Kentucky fans will miss out on participating in this year's tournament as they will not be able to visit El Paso for the first time ever. But do expect the tournament to be back again in El Paso sometime down the line!

Again, El Paso has shown that they can come out and support the tournament.

You seem to forget that So. Miss is in CUSA. So if no one wants to pay for this version of it, that includes USM.

EE is not a Southern Miss fan regardless of what his/her profile says

I haven't forgot that USM is currently in Cbelt, I deal in reality and am not blinded by years of indoctrination. I see it as it IS, not what I would like it to be. You guys begged for years and when finally admitted by a panicked Cbelt adm have found the promised land has dissolved.
